Good Shoes, Take you Good Places

I was resisted doing my Monday blog as we all know that it’s the holiday break and not many people are reading it anyway. Then I did Leonie Dawsons Shining Light Workbook: Leonie’s Webpage. and one of my goals os to triple my readership so that definitely would not have been a great way to start fulfilling that goal.

I also found a vision I wrote for Arion Light’s six-week activation program I just completed. It goes like this:

There is a place in my heart where essence lives.

It has no solid form, it’s just a sense of magnificence that

lives out day to day my dreams and wishes for the life of the planet and the Universe.

The word magnificence stuck so our journey today is on that subject:

1. Esther Hicks (born Esther Weaver) is an American inspirational speaker and author. She has co-written nine books with her husband Jerry Hicks, presented numerous workshops on the law of attraction with Abraham-Hicks Publications and appeared in the original version of the 2006 film The Secret.[1] The Hicks’ books, including the series The Law of Attraction, are — according to Esther Hicks — “translated from a group of non-physical entities called Abraham.” Hicks describes what she is doing as tapping into “infinite intelligence”.

2. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to understand what Rumi is getting at, but is always magnificent: There is so much Magnificence.

3. The Prime minister of our country Malcolm Turnbull said on being re-elected that there was no better time to be living in our country, hope he had this in mind.

4. I hold my weekly choir singing sacred, what is your form of this musical tome: Holocene.

5. I don’t really imagine Ralph Waldo Emerson using rats as a simile but it’s there in google images.

6. A great place to view this is on the Eyre Highway on the South Australian/ West Australian border on a clear night: Where I Stood.

7. How many conversations do you have a day to unveil magnificence. Take it up for the New Year.

8. I often wonder why Gaia invented so many languages on the one planet. That’s why it is a joy when you meet another soul with who it doesn’t matter: Living In the Moment.

9. Just loved the Image and Sentiment.

10. Answer the question, your choice!! : It’s Getting Better.

11. Nature has its own magnificence, you can hear it, see it and smell it everywhere.

12. It’s always great to celebrate elder occasions so many people never make it there: Happy Birthday to You.

13. My artistry is my words and my voice, I am slightly jealous of songwriters and people who paint.

14. There appears to be a lot of people trying to disclaim this quote. Most, can’t :3,6 and the 9.

15. How many universes are there, The fact that no one knows the answer to this question is what makes it exciting. The story of physics has been one of an ever-expanding understanding of the sheer scale of reality, to the point where physicists are now postulating that there may be far more universes than just our own.

So we have a lot of magnificence to fill our life up with, enjoy doing it in 2017.

Something out of Nothing!!

There is a poster in front of me that is advertising the Goodstart Preston program, on it is written the statement Creativity is more than artistic expression, it’s a safe and engaging way for children to explore their feelings and imagination while developing motor skills and language.

Remember as a child when you had imaginary friends who could be dragons, princes, and princesses or the brothers and sisters you didn’t have. Where has that incredible creativity gone in our more mature life? Let’s have a look at what society has said about creativity over the years:

1. From a conflicted and unhappy childhood, Dorothy Parker rose to acclaim, both for her literary output in publications such as The New Yorker and as a founding member of the Algonquin Round Table. Following the breakup of the circle, Parker traveled to Hollywood to pursue screenwriting. Her successes there, including two Academy Award nominations, were curtailed when her involvement in left-wing politics led to a place on the Hollywood blacklist.

2. I love this statement by Brene Brown, sharing your soul with the world, what a way to describe creativity: You Have to Get Back UP.

3. I thought John Kennedy said this, but it was definitely George. Over his 94 years, he wrote an incredible 60 plays, the best known being Pygmalion, a stalwart of the school curriculums. A little-known fact is that he opposed vaccination back in the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s.

4. Probably my favorite quote maker. Albert Einstein’s work is contagious and I love passing it on: Pass it On.

5. It’s Santa time. How old were you when you stopped believing or are you a survivor?

6. We remain loyal to people but how often do we give up on our gifts because we are told by society they are not the way to make our living: Get Lucky.

7. Fahrenheit 451, one of the most iconic sci-fi books ever written. The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and “firemen” burn any that are found. The book is named after the assumed temperature at which paper combusts. Thank goodness for Kindle.

8. Paint attracts the child in one because it so bright. But when Danny was around on TV it was black and white. Here is a classic dance routine from his show with Gene Kelly: Danny and Gene.

9. Do you remember those puzzles that were popular where you had to go outside the box. If you solved them you were a creative.

10. A lot of Creatives never make it to their Uni graduation. Here is one of the most famous and his speech about it: Be Inspired.

11. Do you know that most things that are created are after an incredible journey of failure, Edison being the classic example with the electric light bulb.

12. You can Dance if you want to: A koan for creativity: Safety Dance.

13. It’s essential ot remember the last element, have fun on your creative path.

14. I know I have made some awful flub ups because of my unwillingness to let go of my certainty about life I think I’m making one at the moment : Get Back Up.

15. As I mentioned before I thought JFK had made a quote, he didn’t but he definitely said this one. Idea’s are timeless as is your creativity.

So fight for your right to party/stay creative. It’s that part of you which can make the world a better place.

You Activate the Naughty in Me!!

It’s going to be 38 degrees celsius in my city today. A temperature that slows my active genes down quite a bit. This made me think what else does this to me. How do I go in the activation stakes, what depresses this in me, or what activates the naughty in me?

I know the Activation school run by my mentor Arion Light does : The Activation School link. I also know that singing does, I have been in my choir, The Moons a Balloon for over 3 years now and I love it. But what do we, humanity say about it; Let’s have a look:

1. The eight stages of choice we have every day, go for the leap!

2. I have a love affair with the words and quotes of Albert Einstein, I must do a purely Albert blog one day. Keep up the battle against the rationalism in your life, do not lose out to it: Mr. Einstein.

3. Hands up who knows what a monoamine oxidase inhibitor is? I didn’t , here’s the answer : Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are chemicals that inhibit the activity of the monoamine oxidase enzyme family. They have a long history of use as medications prescribed for the treatment of depression. They are particularly effective in treating atypical depression. Bet you feel better for that.

4. Did Osho reintroduce the male beard craze to the Western world? I’m not sure but I thank my friend Tania for introducing me to his insights and books, Glorious!!: Masterpiece.

5. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is noted for his work in the study of happiness and creativity but is best known as the architect of the notion of flow and for his years of research and writing on the topic. He is the author of many books and over 120 articles or book chapters. Martin Seligman, former president of the American Psychological Association, described Csikszentmihalyi as the world’s leading researcher on positive psychology.

6. Just had to include this one. With the introduction of the iPhone generations, it hits the mark right in the bullseye : Anaconda.

7. This is why 11:11 is such a significant time and when people notice it all the time they are on this journey.

8. Must agree with this, I have heavily been into doing lately. Getting up doing what I have always done without a whole lot of feeling attached to the actions. I need to make a choice about many of them: Enough!!

9. You need to take steps if you are to grow your ideas from a seed to a flourishing shrub, here are some that may work.

10. I know it’s not a quote but the beautiful name and smile just drew me to include it : Make me Smile.

14. In 2016, Robbins has been the most booked female speaker in the world. As a Marianne Williamson and Oprah fan. I find this extraordinary, On February 28, 2017, Robbins will release her second book “The Five Second Rule“: The Weeknd.

15. Finally from the world’s richest man, what made him contact that original computer company when he had not written a piece of code for an operating system that has now grown into the icon that is known as Microsoft.

Well, it’s getting a whole lot warmer where I am sitting to stay out of the heat of the first really hot day of Melbourne’s summer. Enjoy.

Pluck those Strings!!

Where I volunteer we did a project last year producing a book called My Journey, My Lucky Country about the stories of 11 mature age migrants and their journeys before and after they decided to settle in Australia. One of them commented that she found it hard with out any English when she first arrived but if you are determined that anything is possible. I had found my word for today’s blog, determination.

So lets take the journey down the path of determination:

1. Carl von Clausewitz -was a Prussian general and military theorist who stressed the “moral” (meaning, in modern terms, psychological) and political aspects of war.

He saw history as a vital check on erudite abstractions that did not accord with experience. In contrast to the early work of Antoine-Henri Jomini, he argued that war could not be quantified or reduced to mapwork, geometry, and graphs. Clausewitz had many aphorisms, of which the most famous is “War is the continuation of politics by other means.”

2. These are several of the attitudes that you need to live a determined life: Win.

3. There’s a famous saying that life is about learning, the day that you stop learning is the day that you die. It’s from a Tom Clancy novel. I agree but cannot admit to doing it all the time.

4. I am statements support you in the quality of life you lead. In our country there was a rock anthem: We can’t be Beaten.

5. When you wish upon a star it may happen or it may not, but if you commit that you will, it is all over.

6. There is only one song that could go with this quote from one of my animal totems: The Leader of the Pack – The Shangri-La’s.

7. From the worlds most famous philosopher Anon. comes advice when we can alter our future, Now!!

8. Self will is needed in this short quote about what it takes ti make stuff happen: Free.

9. Josie Spinardi is an American weight loss guru, who specialises in have people break their overeating habit helping people to create the life they can’t wait to wake up to.

10. I’ve got a couple of friends who always seem to sparkle whenever I see them, they say they work hard on being happy : Sparklers.

11. How many lucky people do you know, who seem predestined to success, then there is the rest of us who get there through grit and determination.

Uncover your true Self!!

I offered to send Facebook Birthday Cards to a friend of mine who runs a self development company and has close to 5,000 Facebook friends and was so incredibly busy. It lasted a day before one of her friends commented that if it was coming from her it would be more authentic. Shows how well our true friends know us.

So what makes something authentic, the definition is as follows

Authentic |

not false or copied; genuine; real:

an authentic antique.

having an origin supported by unquestionable evidence; authenticated; verified:

an authentic document of the Middle Ages; an authentic work of the old master.

representing one’s true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified:

a story told in the authentic voice of a Midwestern farmer; a senator’s speech that sounded authentic.

entitled to acceptance or belief because of agreement with known facts or experience; reliable; trustworthy:

an authentic report on poverty in Africa.

Law. executed with all due formalities:

an authentic deed.

Music.

(of a church mode) having a range extending from the final to the octave above.
(of a cadence) consisting of a dominant harmony followed by a tonic.

To Emeli’s friend we were not being authentic, so what has been said over the centuries in regard to this matter that clutches at our heart strings, let’s have a look

1. Janet Louise Stephenson is an author who writes about abandonment, something that happened to her as a child until she was adopted by a Mormon family. She later searched for her mother and wrote a book about that experience.

2. We know when we are being authentic, we are not coming from those millions of frazzled thoughts in our head, but the openness of our hearts: The Song of the Heart.

3. Perfectionism is often said to be the booby prize as it stops you doing so much in your life as you don’t try things that you believe you won’t get right. Time to get real!!

7. How often do we catch ourselves seeking approval from our peers to justify our worldly existence? How much easier life would be if we could drop this malady from our daily actions.

8. What do you sell your soul for? I know that I get a knot in my stomach whenever I do this: Who will Save Your Soul.

9. The queen of authenticity, Oprah Winfrey admits that she wasn’t always that way. It was something that came to her later in life. She wishes she had come to it earlier.

12. How do you pray on a daily basis? Prayers can be construed as a matter of relationship with our true nature, more than a request or an invocation. 15. And this is an apology to Emeli’s friend, don’t believe everything you read on Facebook if you don’t think its authentic.

I see the power of authenticity in friendships and love can make or break trust, It’s something we must continually practise or it just falls away.

I believe in Unicorns!!

What did you believe in when you were little, I believed in Unicorns. What magic do you still believe in? Living your life with a little magic in it allows for you to let things in that replace the mundane, those mythical and magical moments that inspire your heart to shudder with joy.

We are all fascinated by magicians and wonder how do they do their amazing tricks, can they really walk on water? Magic has been prevalent over the centuries and mentioned in all areas of life, lets have a look

1. I love words, they express the magic of the soul, and sometimes they don’t, the heart does.

2. Think about all those times when you just knew that it was time to begin that new adventure. Your Gut Feeling was on full volume: It’s only the Beginning.

3. And sometimes we need to remember that magic is special and we can simply imagine that life can be better and take the appropriate actions.

4. How much of our life do we live in the comfort zone. Step outside and enter the magical arena and transform your life: This is Where the Magic Happens.

5. For something to occur in our lives, we must believe in it, including magic. What’s better to believe in.

I am a believer that magic should be a daily part of our lives as it spreads joy through our bodies and takes us a long way down the path of fulfilling our dreams.

I’ve got the Music in Me!!

I have 33,000 songs in my Itunes library, I subscribe to Apple My music, Spotify, have 130 albums on my Bandcamp play list, Mixcloud, Soundcloud and am subscibed to about 300 musicians webpages: so the above statement is my truth.

I cannot play an instrument as my right and left hand do not talk to each other but my dear friend Kavisha Mazzella taught me to sing as a member of The Moon’s a Balloon choir which I honour her for each and every day. The secret is learning to listen not to sing the words. Here is one of her songs to explain why she has such an exquisite ability to do so: Invisible Indivisible.

There are a lot of quotes about the love of music and it is my joy to select them and interpret what they mean to me: Here we go –

1. This statement is very truthful, I have never been able to get into death metal or people who are racist and sexist.

2. I am sure we all have our favourite up and down songs, probably two or three. Think of yours as you listen to one of my all time fave love songs: Let’s Stay Together.

3. Feelings are said to have colours, I agree with the sentiment expressed in this quotes that they also have sounds, rage is aargh and love is aaw to me.

4. You can be stock still to it, you can also be in a state of total chaos but there is always a solution to whatever problem you are facing in your music collection, it might even be the sounds of nature.20 minutes of natures bliss.

5. Because I like puns.

6. Seems Plato was a music dude as well as one of the worlds great philosophers. Here’s some Soul of the Universe music : I am a Soul.

7. Unlike native languages music is understood in every country on every continent of our planet. From Antarctica to Iceland the dulcet tones of an instrument can unite people from all races.

8. Well, I didn’t expect her to be a news anchor. Here’s a news musical Clip: Not the 9 O’clock news.

9. You can put her on in the mood you need to talk about at any time and it doesn’t cost you 200 dollars.

10. How often have you heard music being performed where you forget to eat and drink. I recently went to see one of my favourite ex rock gods Stephen Cummings, lead singer of one of Australia biggest bands in the 1970’s the Sports now a much loved singer songwriter who plays to crowds of 40, here is one of my favourite Steve songs: When Love comes Back to Haunt You.

11. Kavisha, who I mentioned before used to lead a session called Empty Sky, there would be 5 minute breaks of silence between silence. She believed that was where the magic and the healing lay.

12. Not Might mouse Modest Mouse, they are actually a band – The band’s name is derived from a passage from the Virginia Woolf story “The Mark on the Wall,” which reads, “I wish I could hit upon a pleasant track of thought, a track indirectly reflecting credit upon myself, for those are the pleasantest thoughts, and very frequent even in the minds of modest, mouse-coloured people, who believe genuinely that they dislike to hear their own praises. In Australia there is only one song you can use to depict the soul, here it is: Soul Kind of Feeling.

13. Best known for his Fanfare for the Common Man, Aaron Copland was an American composer, composition teacher, writer, and later in his career a conductor of his own and other American music. Instrumental in forging a distinctly American style of composition, in his later years he was often referred to as “the Dean of American Composers” and is best known to the public for the works he wrote in the 1930s and 1940s in a deliberately accessible style often referred to as “populist” and which the composer labelled his “vernacular” style.

14. Yes it’s mi-spelt but that is the joy of this form of music , its can be corny and yet so deep. My favourite is alternative country and my favourite artist : Gillian Welch.

15. As my musical ownership list proves , I totally believe in music, and I also believe in Unicorns.

Are you telling a great Story?

My friend Emeli has chosen Stories as the theme of her next workshop, based on stories can carry us, or break us: Collective Potential. At different times in our lives we listen to different stories, some empowering , others that take us to the depths of despair. What is it that has us choose to stop listening to the empowering ones? I have a friend who never seems to do this , he says he does it by concentrating on living in the moment.

There are many varieties of quotes that relate to our stories, I think I have chosen wisely in the 15 I have selected today, let us begin our journey.

1. Delicious ambiguity, what a beautiful term. Add some zest to your life by not knowing what the next moment is going to be.

2. What were your favourite kids stories, I liked Charlie Brown. Sir Terence David John “Terry” Pratchett, OBE was an English author of fantasy novels, especially comical works. He is best known for his Discworld series of 41 novels. Pratchett’s first novel, The Carpet People, was published in 1971; after the first Discworld novel, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983, he wrote two books a year on average. His 2011 Discworld novel Snuff was at the time of its release the third-fastest-selling hardback adult-readership novel since records began in the UK, selling 55,000 copies in the first three days. 5. My writing teacher Catherine Deveny, The Dev says you should always be truthful in your words. then you don’t have to remember what you said or wrote, because it is the truth.

7. This to me is a Sacred Story from a life of Sacred love.

8. Perfectionism is the booby prize, how do you enjoy the journey?

9. Memories are often written in a song – some Elvis : Memories.

10. Neil Gaiman gave one of the most inspirational commencement speeches ever about making some art, its long but worth the time : Make some Art.

11. Putting Yellow stickies on our fridges to express our feelings to our beloved, a noble past time.

12. Sacred Love – to be told or tell someone I Love You and realising that It never has to be said again but that it will for the rest of their lives.

13. Terry Prachett again. Who is going to write your story, moi or someone else?

Space is the Place!!

My friends Emeli and Jodi run a social enterprise called Collective Potential, their mission is to: Create spaces for people to connect in real life and provide experiences and resources to create fulfilling lives: Collective Potential website.

It got me to thinking about what does this term creating space mean? Perhaps its talking about astronaut space, physiological space, acreage space, there are many to choose from. I have chosen from a wide range of modalities for the 15 quotes today, lets begin:

1. One of the two most famous philosophers in the world Unknown and Anonymous, Unknown says that we need to let go to allow better things to happen to us.

2. Never devalue your worth for another, never.

3. Well known blogger Melanie Koulouris is famous for her Life has taught me poem. This is a beautiful quote about the need for space on your spiritual path.

4. If you are leading a totally full life, there are time you may need to delete some of it to allow for growth. Randy Gage, author of Mad Genius, a manifesto points out that this means people as well.

5. Busyness means that life can become a bit hum drum with all of that doing, remember to have space for a creative outlet amongst it all, mine are dance, Tai Chi and singing.

6. Something borrowed, something new, something blue: that space that is happening is occurring for the new shiny you to emerge from the ashes. Time for the title song : Sun Ra’s opus.

7. Our job is to turn our minds down and listen to the body, our home. In the silence we can welcome the rest of the world.

8. Saying Hello to the new and goodbye to the old. There was a famous song written about this in the sixties by the lads from Liverpool : Hello Goodbye, check out those outfits.

9. Little boxes all in a row, modern architecture of convenience has seen the beauty of previous time periods be eroded into fitting in as many people as we can on one block.

10. Come home my darling, you know where I am. How many of us enter our sacred space on a daily routine. The bliss king Joseph Campbell says this is where to go to when you feel lost.

11. I promise to laugh with you, cry with you, and grow with you. I will love you when we are together and when we are apart. I promise to support your dreams and to respect our DIFFERENCES, and to love you and be by your side through all the days and nights of our lives.

12. Turn around, you are going the wrong way. Yes you, are you listening?

13. You can be anybody in this space, most definitely not the authentic you.

15. Democritus was an influential Ancient Greek pre-Socratic philosopher primarily remembered today for his formulation of an atomic theory of the universe. He was born in Abdera, Thrace, around 460 BC, although, some thought it was 490 BC. Atoms and empty space, puts it in perspective doesn’t it.

In other words, all of those points that I made about how to hold space for others can and should be applied to yourself first. Give yourself permission to trust your own intuition. Give yourself only as much information as you can handle. Don’t let anyone take your power away. Keep your ego out of it. Make yourself feel safe enough to fail. Give guidance and help to yourself with humility and thoughtfulness. Create your own container for complex emotions, fears, trauma, etc. And allow yourself to make decisions that are different from what other people would make.

The Quality of Happiness!!

I chose this subject because I have begun reading Luminita Saviuc’s AKA the Purpose Fairy’s 15 Things you should give up in order to be Happy. Luminita had been faithfully writing her blog when this particular one received over one million hits.

What fascinates people about being happy? it is the most popular answer when we are asked what do we want in life and one of the most common things sung about, remember the iconic song by Pharrell Williams : Happy!!

There are thousands of words that have appeared on happiness quotes over the centuries and I have chosen some featuring the word and others that point to it for our journey down our happiness trail: Let’s begin.

1. There are many forms of happy throughout the word, possible 7,000,000,000 of them as we are all unique individuals.

2. Have you been told you are gorgeous today? There, I bet that put a smile on your face.

3. Will I listen to one of my 30,000 – 98 days worth of music on my Itunes, watch a Netflix documentary or read one of my favourite Brian Johnson’s Philosophers Notes, you have the ability to choose to do what makes you happy moment to moment, it is not in the hand of others.

4. Sorry for spilling it everywhere, with happiness comes awesomeness.

5. Mandy Hale is affectionately known as The Single Woman TM around the world. In just over two years, Mandy has garnered a massive Twitter following of a half a million people from across the globe. With a heart to inspire single women to live their best lives and to never, ever settle, Mandy cuts to the heart of the matter with her inspirational, straight-talking, witty, and often wildly humorous take on life and love.

6. Is it kosher to put another list in the middle of an existing list? I’m not sure but it’s a great list.

7. Lots of films on happiness are made with a magical happy ending. Methinks they have forgotten the main gist of life.

8. Too much thinking, that’s what my brain used to say to me during my mental health period. Luckily I discovered the work of Arion Light : The Activation School. This has allowed me to make this a possibility in my life.

9. Don’t be burgled by this, stay Happy.

10. Johny Cash agreed by covering this classic song : You are My Sunshine.

11. One of the world’s greatest philosophers, Unknown points out the pleasure of dancing in the rain : Too much fun, We’re so Happy.‘

12. Ben is an author and psychologist, he was widely known for his syndicated column, “The Marriage Clinic,” and for his many books, including I WILL, and I CAN.

He was active on the West Coast as a consulting psychologist and was much sought after as a lecturer throughout the states.

13. Austin O’Malley was brave enough to write a book entitled The Cure for Alcoholism, unfortunately for society it wasn’t a big seller. I’m not sure what he means here but I think it means to live a quiet life.

15. Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862) was an American author, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist,tax resister, development critic, surveyor, and historian. A leading transcendentalist,Thoreau is best known for his book Walden, a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings, and his essay Resistance to Civil Government (also known as Civil Disobedience), an argument for disobedience to an unjust state. I love the beauty of this quote, Thoreau certainly lived it out in his busy life.

As I meander down the annals of time, I find I have more not less to be happy in my life about, to travel the journey with a smile on my face.
