Everyone’s True Colours Show Eventually

Our thoughts create our emotions and our emotions create our realities… Observe your thoughts, Just for Today. Observe your thoughts free of any judgements, just allow them to come through as they are. If you notice any negative thoughts appearing that’s excellent, now you have the ability to change them, now change them.

We have 10-17 magical seconds to flip our thoughts into positive ones before the negative thought manifests. Yes, you are that powerful. Continue, reminding yourself to observe your thoughts, with zero judgement, for as long as you can. This practice session is now complete.

We have a lot of 10-17 second moments in our lives where we do not choose or have the emotional ability to swap from negative to positive, why is this so. Let’s have a look at how life has looked at the moment of observing our thoughts:

thoughts1

1. It’s in the actions we create our future life, thoughts are just passing through. it’s what we do that puts it in concrete.

thoughts2

2. The art of mindfulness, the ability to observe, not be driven by the chaos of our mind was the greatest gift given to the west by the great meditation masters of the east: That I would Be Good.

thoughts3

3. One of the great gifts Lao Tzu gave to the world.

thoughts4

4. My friend and mentor Arion talks about living life at 50 litres or 1,000 litres. Who do you surround yourself with in life: Believe.

thoughts5

5. That mind is a tricky beast, isn’t it. It seems to have a mind of it’s own, we wouldn’t have those thoughts, would we?

thoughts6

6. It’s time to eat: The Simpsons or Shakespeare, bitching or praising your friends magnificence, you choose: Halo.

thoughts7

7. The cost of extreme vulnerability, some friends might just not get it.

thoughts8

8. Eckhardt titled his book about this subject, The Power of Now: Human.

thoughts9

9. The purpose of thinking and thought, to feel our passions that move us towards our dreams.

thoughts10

10. To break free of the control of thoughts, like , I need another drink, a block of chocolate would be good right now is one journey worth going on: Morning Meditation.

thoughts11

11. And what Deepak is doing in the video gives you the ability to be totally responsible, Yay!!!

thoughts12

12. Would you let your best friend have those thoughts or be at the influence of them for any length of time?: Best Friendship Song Ever.

thoughts13

13. It’s those moments in between the thoughts that hold the magic, remember to look for them each day.

thoughts14

14. A little bit more of wisdom from Siddhārtha Gautama AKA The Buddha. That world out there, you made it up: Sweet Dreams are made of This.

thoughts15

15. And waiting in the background, for you to get better at observing your thoughts, is your sweet, sweet heart.

So I am calling for you to take on a daily practice which will give you the ability to observe your thoughts, not be observed and controlled by them, have fun taking it on.

Musically today we swing from Bruno mars to the Eurythmics with some wisdom from Deepak Chopra thrown in, enjoy…

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

You’re not a jar of Nutella

What am I writing about with a title like that? It’s a feisty one. I recieved Danielle LaPortes Free and Clear process – It’s about what are you going to stop doing, I write something everyday in my 2017 Desire Map Daily Planner and it is not that easy some days ten months in. I spoke to my Activation  buddy heather about who stated, why would you do that, I think that if you want new stuff/time in your life that you have to remove old stuff to get the space for the new stuff, lot’s of stuff, huh.

So I put stop doing things quotes in google images and from the result there is not a lot of focus on this over time, there were about thirty versions of three quotes, lets see if you can guess which ones they were of the following fifteen I have chosen:

stop1.jpeg

1. What in you life do you do because you have always done it? When did people stop appreciating you for it. Over to you, you know what to do.

stop2

2. I was watching two young children filling in time the other night, they are definitely as far away from death as one could be moment to moment: Raise your Glass.

stop3

3. You don’t have to stop doing those things that touch you in your heart and soul, they are special.

stop4

4. A suggestion for things you should stop doing, if they are not in your present presence, it’s time to say ta ta: Rolling in the Deep.

stop5

5. And these are the things you definitely should not stop.

stop6

6. I like the name of the webpage – The possibiltyoftoday.com and the message to stop reacting to things you have no control over: Island in the Sun.

stop7

7. Why do we need to create space? This quote points to exactly why.

stop8

8. Wise words from Tom. And it has to be my favourite Tom Waits tune: Heart Attack and Vine.

stop9

9. We all don’t have to save the world with the things we do. But I love how Mother Teresa suggests we do it.

stop10

10. Word: Try Everything.

stop11

11. And then again there are these things we could easily stop doing, or is it that easy?

stop12

12. I don’t know what to say about this, many will disagree: Loyalty

stop13

13. If you are struggling with things you could stop doing, here’s a few ideas.

stop14

14. Permanent people, how many are there in your life: A Permanent Hug from You.

stop15

15. Thomas could be one of several people, he may even be from the 15th century, but its a bit hard to tell. So never ever ever stop doing this.

Danielle finishes her free and clear sheet with the words Tell yourself that you will Love and Protect yourself at all times. And….stop it , Thankyou Danielle.

The music is heavily leaning towards pop divas, but there is a classic Tom Waits track and a oh so cute number that has only had 13,000 hits on Youtube.

Namaste until next time my dear friends.

When basic becomes complicated, Simplify!!

Einstein said many things, but one of his most profound quotes was “If you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it to yourself”.

In this crazy tech driven society of ours people seem to have forgotten that life is meant to be about simplicity. Sunsets and Sunrises, rainbows, walking the dog, the simple tasks of life. In the excellent book about human nature; Selfish, Scared and Stupid by Dan Gregory & Kieran Flanagan: SSS article. they wrote a cheat sheet to keep it simple, here it is:

Make it Simple Shortcuts

  1. We are already ridiculously busy and overloaded with information, so make things easy to digest and simple to action.
  2. If you make our lives more complicated, we will simply ignore you.
  3. We have more options than we need, so make yours simpler to understand.
  4. If you can’t fit it onto a  post-it or explain it to a six year old, it needs simplifying.
  5. Identify the most basic need or value you need to satisfy and start there.
  6. Information curators are the new power brokers.

Bruce Lee hits the nail squarely on the head: If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done. So what has society thought about simplicity over the generations, let’s have a look:

simple1

1. How  many of these don’t you do because of the complications you have made them mean, change to the simplicity of this list.

simple8

2. Two and a half thousand years ago Confucius gave the world this piece of advice, do you think we listened. Get out your Iphone and ask a friend: Simple Life.

simple3

3. And from the great series Mad Men, Don Draper offers an advertising executive’s cut at simplicity.

simple4

4. My friends daughter Natalie is a minimalist. Here’s some information about it if you don’t know what it is:Minimalism.

simple4

5. Never thought I would see the day I would quote Adolf Hitler, but unfortunately he has a point that politicians have been using for centuries.

simple6

6. I have to admit that there are complicated things on the planet. Those formulas we see written on those board in films need mathematicians to make them, simply, understandable: Welcome to my Complicated Life.

simple7

7. More wisdom from the curly haired one, an example: Steve Jobs and the IPhone, remember the original bricks that were the mobile phone.

simple9

8. The process of existing on this planet between sunrise and sunset , what happened?: Sunrise, Sunset.

simple10

9. When I was leaving my unit this morning, I noticed the many things I had lying around I have not used in months, time for a clean out.

simple11

10. Like this a lot. I must admit when I think of simple that less comes to mind: Clarity.

simple12

11. I was surprised Google Images brought up this reference to Bali under make it simple quotes, but then again I have not been there, all my friends who have would probably say it makes perfect sense.

simple13

12. It’s in the making of it that the simplicity gets in: Cheap Thrills.

simple14

13. What do you want to be when you grow up? Where does all that other shit come from.

simple15

14. And when your life is simplified here is one of the greatest and simplest gifts you can give another: Come up and see me, make me Smile.

simple16

15. Yes I am of that age where I recognise pictures that are no longer used but where a  lot simpler.

A typical supermarket in the modern world holds more than 47,000 products on its shelves. Only 30 years ago , that number was closer to 9,000. Some toothpaste companies produce over 50 products, more than the number of teeth we have in our mouth.

A great definition of simplicity is given by Jonathan Ive, Apples head of design: “True simplicity is derived from so much more than the absence of clutter and ornamentation. It’s about bringing order to complexity”.

The music today is a 70’s classic, a mini doco, some pop divas, a musical classic and an alternative anthem to a simple life, Enjoy.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Sunset is still my favourite Colour!!

There is a poem towards the back of The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss called the Slow Dance written by child psychologist David L. Weatherford, it goes like this:

The Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight? Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down, Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short. The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?

When you ask: How are you? Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in bed

With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You’d better slow down. Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short. The music won’t last.

Ever told your child, We’ll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste, not seen their sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time to call and say, “Hi”?

You’d better slow down. Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short. The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere, You miss half the fun of getting there

When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift thrown away.

Life is not a race. Do take it slower.

Hear the music Before the song is over.

Timothy talks about busyness being one of the major causes of stress and the enemy of the new rich, the four hour week workers whose lives are about living for fulfilling their dreams, dancing through life. So I have chosen some dancing quotes to look at hearing the music before the song is over:

dances1

1. I hear their reply when I ask, How are you because my heart is open from the dance of life.

dances2

2. Don’t let those hundred chores that need to be done in your head forget how much you and your friends would dance to the music and the not music when you were little: Safety Dance.

dances3

3. We have all met that person who makes us break our rules, often more than one on our lifetimes.

dances4

4. Not sure what the difference is, they say perfectionism is its own worst enemy: Let’s Dance.

dances5

5. I like doing it with another soul so all that exists are our two hearts beating as one.

dances6

6. I love this image of the dog leaping in pure ecstasy, who gives a fuck how it looks if it fully expressed: Dancing Fool.

dances7

7. Always remember what had you take up the dance in the first place, the joy and freedom.

dances9

8. Before enlightenment, take one step then another.  After enlightenment and success, take one step and then another: How Far I’ll Go.

dances10

9. To me, dancing is about the expressive bits, not the steps that make it up.

dances11

10. My 90 year old mother said to me she would like me to lose some weight. I am 63 and over 100 kg again, and yes, I am a dancer: Better when I am Dancing.

dances12

11. I just took part in Dancing Freedom’s 21 day dancing challenge. You got sent 10 to 20 minutes music to dance to everyday. The  only space I really have in my flat is the kitchen and the back yard.

dances13

12. I dance on dance floors where speech is not optional, we are there to dance, we are all quiet: Can’t stop this Feeling.

dances14

13. Not the slow dance, these times are special.

dances15

14. Don’t mess with a dancer, we are tough as nails and sweet and kind all in one: Shake It Off.

dances16

15. And this is what the poem is about, the Heart.

Doing the slow dance is like turning off the noise. Surprisingly the world doesn’t end and you end up being liberated in a way few people ever know. During this time follow the koan – If you don’t have attention, you don’t have time.

A Hero’s Guidepost – Stay Open to Mystery!!

Some more brilliant words from Lissa Rankin as I work my way through her excellent book the Anatomy of A Calling: The Website.

Its easy to think we can understand the world and how it works. But then if things happen that we can’t explain, it can lead to discomfort, disorientation and even denial. When something happens that disrupts your story of how the world works, be curious. Don’t worry too much about explaining your experience. The need to know arises from the mind, which can’t begin to fathom what your heart knows is possible. What if “How”and “Why” were not the most important questions, the ones that actually help us live?. When you’re willing to stop being an expert on life, you open yourself to magic. You let life be the teacher and humble yourself as the perpetual student. That’s when the real fun begins.”

So those signs you receive in your life, do you take notice of them or do you know that it just wouldn’t work out. Lets look at some signs sayings, there are some great ones:

signs1

1. The best job I ever had in my career as editor of a national Community Development journal called Community Quarterly would have never happened if I had ignored the poorly handwritten flier – volunteers wanted in St Kilda that day in the library.

signs2

2. This is why The Universe has your Back by Gabby Bernstein is another of my favourite books, great training in listening for the signs, she also does a quote card pack: Manifesto.

signs3

3. A place definitely not to look is in your head, when you feel that energy flowing through your body, follow it to its source.

signs4

4. The cat is about to head off and find Aladdin’s Caves: Follow the Sun.

signs5

5. You don’t only get one on life. My friend Thea writes a daily, 365 days a year book. Don’t hold on when you are meant to let go.

signs6

6. We have all heard the classic joke about the man ignoring God’s messages. It may not always make sense, but we all know when our intuition is speaking to us loud and clear. Stop ignoring it: Intuition.

signs7

7. A life without borders, what level of trust would that take where we could follow each and every sign.

signs8

8. I have a friend who when she travels chooses to go the road less travelled, to follow the crooked roads. She sometimes gets lost, but  her adventures are of legend: True Colours.

signs10

9. This is one sign we do not want in our relationships, practice telling your disempowered and empowered sacred love stories to each other.

signs11

10. Replace tequila with your favourite drink, mines water: Tequila.

signs12

11. I think this signs for me.

signs13

12. I think the message here is to not give the wrong signs and actions out: Hit the Road Jack.

signs14

13. Words do not get results, words with actions that follow do.

signs16

14. And don’t forget to listen to the ones of Self-Love: That’s why You’re beautiful.

signs15

15. And these are probably the most powerful signs we receive. I call it the person you would most like to ravish in your life. Thats my sacred love story about these signs in our life.

What mysteries have happened in your life, those people you thought about who SMS’d you a minute later. That dream you had years ago about the place you are now in and you  know that you have been there before, these are your signs to listen too and follow.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Let not your Love become Attachment!!

A mission statement for a Blog by Lissa Rankin:

“We are committed to inviting you to explore your truth, knowing you are loved, safe and nurtured. We believe that true healing comes from loving and nurturing both ourselves and others as whole beings. When we own all the disparate parts of ourselves, we tap into the divine spark within us, allowing us to release limiting beliefs, overcoming fears, and enjoy our lives more fully. Once we are in touch with our own divinity – shedding our masks, revealing our authentic selves, and being accepted just as we are- we can see with “magical eyes,” gazing beyond the masks we tend to wear to see the unique and special humanity that lies within us all.

By engaging with our community, we hope you will feel inspired, get motivated to bring your authentic self out of the closet, and take steps that bring you closer to health, healing and inner peace. If you have lost your mojo and feel you have little to give, we welcome you with no expectations. If you have lots to give in service to those in need, we invite you to share your gifts. Chances are good you are all of the above – sometimes seeking, sometimes giving, always enough..

Regardless of where you are on your personal path of awakening, we welcome you. Let us bear witness to your journey, knowing that while each of us walk a unique path, we walk it in good company.”

Lissa’s book The Anatomy of A Calling The Website., is worth visiting at least yearly as it contains so many profound gems about being on purpose.

But first of all she suggests you need to give up attachment, what do we say about attachment across the airwaves and through time: Here is a selection I have chosen to illustrate it:

attach1

1. This is one I have struggled with over time, that the answer lies within not externally. Working on it daily.

attach2

2. Why do we become flustered when the world started operating in a different way to that we know it should be, this is what happens when we hold on too tight: Holding on to Broken Things.

attach3

3. What did Buddha mean by this, much to ponder in 7 simple words.

Attach4

4. You can’t should’ve done something. Gold: It was a Good Day.

attach5

5. The Inner Universe, that’s where the healing lives and lies.

attach6.jpeg

6.  When we stop waiting to reply and genuinely listen to others, Its amazing how many of our judgements slip away: Crippled Inside.

attach7

7. How often do we battle with these thing in our lives – The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.

attach8

8. Judgement often feels chaotic, It’s not your task, bring on the calm: A Thousand Years.

attach9

9. Love me a few of Pema’s wise words, get her books , they are magic.

attach10

10. Here’s a memory test: Out damn spot, think High School: Time to Let Go.

attach11

11. Lots of practice here, heart and  mind, methinks.

attach12

12. Do we have the courage to give up that which has become toxic for us, I did it with alcohol over 3 years ago, feel so much better: Don’t Stop Believing.

attach13

13. Surfs UP, which are your favourite emotions to surf, which put you in danger. Perhaps it’s time to give up your attachment to those waves.

attach14

14. This is the  one thing in life I wish for more than anything else, to fly unaided. I have not been willing to give up everything that weighs the possibility down: I’ll Fly Away.

attach15

15. The field of all possibilities: Has anyone ever reached this blissful state, or would it be so scary that we would implode?

Why is it difficult to detach from the beliefs and judgments that belittle  us? Perhaps as Craig Hamilton says in his Integral Enlightenment series ” The ego  as the part of you that has a need to see ourselves as a particular way” has a lot to do with it. Daily exercise in detaching what we know to be true sounds a great way to discover how to empower the purpose we were put on this planet for.

Note to Self, Let Shit Go!!

This is a beautiful sentence for the life altering book The Anatomy of a Calling: A Doctor’s Journey from the Head to the Heart and A Prescription for Finding your Life’s Purpose: It’s tricky to learn how to inhabit your brilliance- to let our lights shine unimpeded-without mistakenly letting it fuel the ego.

On the other hand what spiritual teacher and author Marianne Williamson writes in her book A Return to Love is true:

” Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened  about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine. we unconsciously give  other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

So how has the planet related to inhabiting our brilliance, let’s have a wee peek:

brill1

1. If you have a belief in that everything is possible the chances you will come up with something new is higher.

brill2

2. Because there is a brand new interpretation of it existing that did not before you took on the challenge: Amazing Grace.

brill3

3. brilliant
ˈbrɪlj(ə)nt/
adjective
  1. (of light or colour) very bright.
    “brilliant sunshine illuminated the scene”
    synonyms: brightshiningblazingdazzlinglightMore

brill4

4. I’ve got a soul kind of feeling, moving to the beat: Soul Kinda.

brill5

5. Welcome to the human experience, that’s where life really lives.

brill6

6. Some brilliant words from JFK about humanity: Teardrops.

brill7

7. I hope they say Love and Respect for All, Everybody Included when they are talking about me.

brill8

8. Aren’t we always feeling a little bit more brilliant on a sunny day: Ain’t Nobody.

brill9

9. Is your life your favourite movie, what’s its name?

brill10

10. I might do a blog soon using quotes when world leaders were respected for their wisdom not their stupidity: Back to Life.

brill11

11. From one of the brilliant ones.

brill12

12. Not in it’s flag, it’s army, it’s leaders, simply it’s people: Our House.

brill13

13. The oldest comment, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe lived from 1749 to 1832, a great innings for the time. Brilliance does not mean that you will always spend time with others.

brill14

14. Just couldn’t leave Oprah out, proof in the pudding: Sweet Dreams.

brill15

15. Finally a quiz, one of the most brilliant human beings ever, who is he?

The key is to recognise that spiritual gifts , divine downloads, miracles, magic and brilliance are all the result of Consciousness streaming through us. Our egos don’t get to claim credit for any of it. But it is our responsibility to avoid blocking its expression through us,

A Happy Heart makes the face Free!!

Danielle LaPorte says that when you are living from your joy and working for meaningfulness, you are:

A. WAY more healthy and effective

B. SO much more fun to be around (Hello love and magnetism)

C. MUCH more able to make a contribution to the world around you.

You can look at it this way, in epic proportions: The planet needs you to be working from your joy, Humanity depends on you doing what’s meaningful to you. The future of civilization is counting on your fulfilling. No pressure. Here’s the micro perspective: You deserve to be lit up by what you do in the world. it’s your life.

There has been much said about being free and clear in our lives, here’s my selection:

f&c1

1. Pharrell Williams sings of the right to be happy in our lives, here is his suggestion how to achieve that state.

f&c2

2. Which definition of free calls to you: Hello.

f&c3

f&c4

4. Ah, The French, they do great quotes and philosophy as well as movies in my humble opinion: Clear Conscience.

f&c6

5. Show the world what lives in your heart, you are worth it!!

f&c5

6. From the great bard Anonymous another beautiful ode to being free and clear: Temporary Life.

f&c7

7. Another favourite depiction of what Danielle is talking about!!

f&c8

8. Loved that film it’s a Beautiful Life: Beautiful Life.

f&c9

9. Do not get caught up in their maze of madness. Live in your own story – Beautiful Words.

f&c10

10. I am excited about Today, Yay: Friday.

f&c11

11. If you make no mistakes, are you officially alive?

f&c12

12. Try a little ….., not why me: Try Me.

f&c13

13. What is calling you, for me it is Love and Respect for All: Everyone Included.

f&c14

14. Uncle Jim gets to the point immediately, how do you get lit up in the world and is it a happening thing at the moment: Riptide.

f&c15

15. Not sure why I chose this one. We are all students and teachers, get out there and fulfill life.

So Danielle finishes with the idea here is to see what lights you up,  so that you can plan to fell-have-do and experience more of that in your  life, Ready, Steady, Go.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends around the world from Melbourne, Australia
