Good Shoes, Take you Good Places

I was resisted doing my Monday blog as we all know that it’s the holiday break and not many people are reading it anyway. Then I did Leonie Dawsons Shining Light Workbook: Leonie’s Webpage. and one of my goals os to triple my readership so that definitely would not have been a great way to start fulfilling that goal.

I also found a vision I wrote for Arion Light’s six-week activation program I just completed. It goes like this:

There is a place in my heart where essence lives.

It has no solid form, it’s just a sense of magnificence that

lives out day to day my dreams and wishes for the life of the planet and the Universe.

The word magnificence stuck so our journey today is on that subject:

mag1

1. Esther Hicks (born Esther Weaver) is an American inspirational speaker and author. She has co-written nine books with her husband Jerry Hicks, presented numerous workshops on the law of attraction with Abraham-Hicks Publications and appeared in the original version of the 2006 film The Secret.[1] The Hicks’ books, including the series The Law of Attraction, are — according to Esther Hicks — “translated from a group of non-physical entities called Abraham.” Hicks describes what she is doing as tapping into “infinite intelligence”.

mag2

2. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to understand what Rumi is getting at, but is always magnificent: There is so much Magnificence.

mag3

3. The Prime minister of our country Malcolm Turnbull said on being re-elected that there was no better time to be living in our country, hope he had this in mind.

mag4

4. I hold my weekly choir singing sacred, what is your form of this musical tome: Holocene.

mag5

5. I don’t really imagine Ralph Waldo Emerson using rats as a simile but it’s there in google images.

mag6

6. A great place to view this is on the Eyre Highway on the South Australian/ West Australian border on a clear night: Where I Stood.

mag7

7. How many conversations do you have a day to unveil magnificence. Take it up for the New Year.

mag8

8. I often wonder why Gaia invented so many languages on the one planet. That’s why it is a joy when you meet another soul with who it doesn’t matter: Living In the Moment.

mag9

9. Just loved the Image and Sentiment.

mag10

10. Answer the question, your choice!! : It’s Getting Better.

mag11

11. Nature has its own magnificence, you can hear it, see it and smell it everywhere.

mag12

12. It’s always great to celebrate elder occasions so many people never make it there: Happy Birthday to You.

mag13

13. My artistry is my words and my voice, I am slightly jealous of songwriters and people who paint.

mag14

14. There appears to be a lot of people trying to disclaim this quote. Most, can’t :3,6 and the 9.

mag15

15. How many universes are there, The fact that no one knows the answer to this question is what makes it exciting. The story of physics has been one of an ever-expanding understanding of the sheer scale of reality, to the point where physicists are now postulating that there may be far more universes than just our own.

So we have a lot of magnificence to fill our life up with, enjoy doing it in 2017.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

I just Awesomed all over the Place!!

I’m reading The Code of the Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakshani, founder of Mindvalley. In it, he defines three kinds of happiness:

  1. Happiness from Special and Unique Experiences
  2. Happiness from growth and Awakening
  3. Happiness from Meaning

Chances are we live our life somewhere in between our highest high and lowest low. Researchers call this phenomenon hedonic adaption. Vishen talks of using Blissipline to raise our happiness on a daily basis through three practices:

  1. The Power of Gratitude
  2. Forgiveness
  3. The Practice of Giving

So how do you raise your happiness levels, let’s look at what the world has been saying about it over the years:

happy1

1. There are times in my life, I have thought, Why Me!!, now I realize I would not be leading the extraordinary Life I do now without these experiences.

happy2

2. Do not give up your happy land for others, you have to live there: Happiness is a warm Gun.

happy3.jpeg

3. The first five statements sum up our childhood until they put us in the system that is meant to educate us. Fight for the right to party to be happy.

happy4

4. Not as easy as this classic Banksy image makes it: Letting Go.

happy5

5. One ingredient that helps a lot is a simple smile, practice it daily.

happy6

6. The Power of Now, not our to-do lists. Eckhart Tolle is the man for this: The Power of Now.

happy7

7. One of the practices to achieve number 6.

happy8

8. At 62 I am having the most awesome years of my life. I call myself an elder of the conscious community who has not brought the bullshit: Elder Hip Hop.

happy9

9. We are visiting that time that is the height of Object worship, captured by the retail industry Christmas has lost it original meaning many decades ago.

happy10

10.I have a daily practice to repeat the I Love You mantra in the mirror because I know that this is true but that I sometimes forget: Roar.

happy11

11. Go on, you know you can put it in your purse or wallet and bring it out when you need to.

happy12

12. How old were you when you were told to grow up and act like an adult, hopefully, it still happens today for you: Dancing Queen.

happy13

13. This quote comes from The Maxims of Marmaduke, written in 1908. It is ageless and just as relevant in this century.

happy14

14. Forgetting those things that wrecked the relationship will have a greater effect than apologizing or forgiving: Forget about Me.

happy15

15. Remember these people: Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, J.K. Rowling, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Mark Pinkus, Jack Dorsey, Susan Boyle, Abraham Lincoln and Colonel Sanders. All took to at least the age of 30 to find their passions and become successful.

So what is your awesome, never give up on finding it, remember it’s a journey, not a destination.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Seeing Is Believing?

I think it’s sad that what we get to see what is happening around the world is war and mayhem reported as news by mainstream media. Why is is it that the great deeds of giving of time and acts of bravery not concerned with killing another human being are not deemed to be newsworthy. What is is that we allow our soul to see on a day to day basis and how do we interpret it, let’s go on that journey:

see1

1. What did Gandhi see on that day he declared in English controlled India we shall be free when there was no evidence for this? What is your vision for your life? Mine is Love and Respect for all, Everyone Included.

see2

2. All of us learn throughout our lives. It starts from the day we are born. It is now recognised that the early years of life are the most important for learning. That’s when the foundations for the future are laid, and when we begin moving down the path that will take us through childhood, the teenage years and ultimately into adulthood. So it takes something to see with new eyes, do you have the strength to do it?: New Eyes.

see3

3. When you sight sees hatred and racism and sexism and agrees that that is what is happening you have lost contact with any religious leaders vision for the planet. because they were disciples of love before we labelled them and stuffed it up.

see4

4. What do you see? Is it the same thing as when you were an innocent child. How often do you get in contact with your inner child. have you forgotten their name?: Hello. Is is me you’re looking for?

see5

5. Lucky for society in regard to the man who said this some people were seeing.

see6

6. John Kabat-Zinn is one of the great doyens of mindfulness. here he is speaking on its benefits: 3 Minutes.

see7

7. How often are we amazed as we get older, perhaps we have stopped doing this.

see8

8. Punks, Bikers, Tattoo wearers, we all know what that means don’t we? Have we  stopped seeing life in new and wondrous ways? I say we return to the great wisdom: Beyond Appearances.

see9

9. I am the world’s most crap photographer. I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. Then there is  my friend Jac Price, she is extraordinary, here her FB page : Your World In Pictures.

see10

10. Sight is granted to the majority of human beings, unfortunately, it does not come with the added requirement of wisdom for many: The Song of Wisdom.

see11

11. Wouldn’t this be a remarkable way to relate to the people in your life, frigging amazing!!

see12

12. Self-explanatory really.

see13

13.Rumi , also known as  Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī (Persian: جلال‌الدین محمد رومی‎‎),  Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī (جلال‌الدین محمد بلخى), Mawlānā/Mevlânâ (مولانا, “our master”), Mevlevî/Mawlawī insightful words are as poignant now as they were 700 years ago when they were first written.

see14

14. We often blame the rain for our shitty moods, on what we see and say on those days that the weather is not so sunny. A bit pathetic really: I can see clearly Now.

see15

15.  Long’s teaching focuses on freeing the individual from unhappiness which he defined as ‘happy today, unhappy tomorrow’. He stated that this fluctuating condition is set in motion and maintained by an addiction to thoughts and the emotions they create. These emotions encourage other thoughts and so a vicious cycle is initiated. We are trapped in this cycle, he suggested, until we follow “the way of truth”. It includes:

  • constant vigilance in observation of one’s thoughts, emotions, and actions;
  • meditation to still the mind and connect with life within i.e. what “I” call “me”; “feeling the well-being in the body”;
  • being, without thought; the next step on from meditation;
  • getting your life right, taking action in those areas of your life which disturb you because something is wrong.

Do you believe that everything you see is the truth, why is your truth more relevant that the other 7,000,000,000 million truths on the planet? Have a think about that?

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Are you on the right path!!

I have done several workshops lately, the latest being on Experiential Astrology , the new Moon and Kali. I don’t know a great deal about Kali, having studied more the Lilith and hecate lineage of goddesses over my trip so I looked up Kali.

Kali comes from the Sanskrit root word Kal which means time. There is nothing that escapes the all-consuming march of time. In Tibetan Buddhism Her counterpart is male with the name Kala. Mother Kali is the most misunderstood of the Hindu goddesses. The Encyclopedia Britannica is grossly mistaken in the following quote, “Major Hindu goddess whose iconography, cult, and mythology commonly associate her with death, sexuality, violence, and, paradoxically in some of her later historical appearances, motherly love.”

It is partly correct to say Kali is a goddess of death but She brings the death of the ego as the illusory self-centered view of reality. Nowhere in the Hindu stories is She seen killing anything but demons nor is She associated specifically with the process of human dying like the Hindu god Yama (who really is the god of death). It is true that both Kali and Shiva are said to inhabit cremation grounds and devotees often go to these places to meditate. This is not to worship death but rather it is to overcome the I-am-the-body idea by reinforcing the awareness that the body is a temporary condition. Shiva and Kali are said to inhabit these places because it is our attachment to the body that gives rise to the ego. Shiva and Kali grant liberation by removing the illusion of the ego. Thus we are the eternal I AM and not the body. This is underscored by the scene of the cremation grounds.

Of all the forms of Devi, She is the most compassionate because She provides moksha or liberation to Her children. She is the counterpart of Shiva the destroyer. They are the destroyers of unreality. The ego sees Mother Kali and trembles with fear because the ego sees in Her its own eventual demise. A person who is attached to his or her ego will not be receptive to Mother Kali and she will appear in a fearsome form. A mature soul who engages in spiritual practice to remove the illusion of the ego sees Mother Kali as very sweet, affectionate, and overflowing with incomprehensible love for Her children.

It’s a divine Purpose!!

Support  – It means many things across our society which could not exist with out it. We often hold ourselves as separate but this is far from the truth as without the support I received on my arrival on this blessed planet from my parents I would not be here writing this. Relax, Renew, Refresh!!

I have just begun to be able to relax again as I have had an injury caused by being pulled around the floor for three minutes to experience what it felt like to fly. Bring on three weeks of sleepless nights a lot of pain and  looks when I told people as to how it happened that I am a slightly unconnected individual.

I suppose we don’t really think how quickly our ability to relax and chill can be taken away from us, I hope I have learnt my lesson that relaxing take something as does stressing. Its amazing how many quotes on relaxing feature cute pictures of cats and dogs so I tried not to include to many in the 15 I have chosen to discuss this worthy subject, Let us begin our journey.

relax1

1. How many times a day do we forget this little mantra. Frankie goes to Hollywood implores us to Relax, don’t do It.

relax2

2. Which way do you wake up, I’m a bit of both.

relax3

3. This is possibly what my very fat in law cat Lhasa looked like as a kitten, cats have it all over their canine friends in the relaxing stakes.

relax4

4. The Chinese have given much to the world, one of the things is great philosophers who come up with great quotes. This is one of them.

relax5

5. Remember to include in your daily to do list time to do stuff like this, laying on the earth is very good for you.

relax6

6. Relaxation travels with its mates, here’s a group photo of them just chilling.

relax7

7. Relax, take it easy is a song that comes to mind when I think of the baths I have had over my life time : Mika’s beautiful song

relax8

8. My father was a teacher, as well as one sister and the other one was a lecturer. Sometimes the system in our country doesn’t allow for this as their marking time is not included in their attendance at the actual school. Cute Polar Bear.

relax9

9. I believe that being in the presence of love is one of the most relaxing things you can do in your life. Find a loving community, family and friends and your stress will lower immediately.

relax10

10. Now this is one relaxed looking dude, bet he’s rocking out some awesome licks.

relax11

11. Our society has become so busy that there are even books being written on how to relax, I think the title of this particular book speaks to how difficult we have made a simple pastime.

relax12

12. If you find a job or career you love, you will not work another day in your life. Allan Watts agrees with sense of relaxed play in Life: Allan Watts on Relaxation.

relax13

13. One quote I did not choose said 7.45 roll over for a five minute nap, wake up at 8.30. have a 5 minute nap at work at 1.30 , wake up at 1.31 pm. Wayne Dyer’s quote speaks to something entirely different.

relax14

14. Had to sneak in one for the dog lovers, He/She looks super relaxed.

relax15

15. And we’ll finish with one of the most chilled out songs about relaxing. Take it away Mr. Marley :Don’t Worry ’bout a Thing.

So lets commit to living a more relaxed life and add some years to our time on Earth.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

It’s Your Home.

They say that you are always looking for it until it settles in and it may take many journeys before you finally arrive there, because all the travel internally and externally cannot make the discovery of what is truly your home until it inhabits your heart.

I visited six countries and six states in Australia looking for home. As a very young child I felt that my family home was “home” but lost this when I moved to Melbourne to begin a French polishing apprenticeship in the early 70’s. I then did the shared house boogie, moving every few years as houses and friendships drifted apart and people partnered up.

As I could not find home externally I took up an internal journey studying the work of Werner Erhard and Tibetan Buddhism for periods of 8 and 9 years. I recently took up bodywork and found what I call home more and more. I have selected 15 quotes on what society has said about taking this journey, they are interesting to say the least. Lets begin this journey:

journey1

1. We often say to ourselves via that little voice in our heads but its all too much so never get round to it. Big Tony, Anthony Robbins calls these the impossible journeys, because we never begin them.

journey2

2. Then we get to that place in life where we realise this message is much more potent. Lissa Rankin calls this the Inner Pilot Light.

journey3

3. Remember when you were going to be Superman or Superwoman when you were riding your Unicorn back in your childhood days. Nelson says you still can be.

journey4

4. When I tell the story about going to Russia to run the Moscow Peace Marathon to end World Hunger the year before the Berlin Wall came down  some people give me very strange looks. I’m not sure if it because I ran a marathon or that I went to the Soviet Union to do it.

journey5

5. We met Serge, Lara and Michael Jackson in Leningrad at a cafe. They wanted to Learn English and we had a lets learn Russian travel book. So they took us under their wings while we were there and showed us the real city. Michael was called Michael Jackson because he loved doing the moonwalk.

Journey6

6. A lot of the time when I felt that I was not worthy I spent the journey alone, I now see this as a prominent part of my journey, where I spent time learning to Ramble On.

journey7

7. Are you a Trekkie, if you are you will instantly recognise the name of the actor who played Doctor Spock in the iconic original series. We spend a lot of time wishing that thing that occur in our journey didn’t occur, for me it is the five hospitalisations I have had over the years. But we cannot change how the chips fall after the event, just how they affect us later on.

journey8

8. We all have our sacred stories, I think we keep them to ourselves too much these days. If we didn’t I believe that we would live in a much stronger, loving world as we travel our journeys.

journey9

9. Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882), known professionally as Waldo Emerson, was an American essayist, lecturer, and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He was seen as a champion of individualism and a prescient critic of the countervailing pressures of society, and he disseminated his thoughts through dozens of published essays and more than 1,500 public lectures across the United States. All our journeys are individual , there are 7 billion of them, never forget this.

journey10

10. I had an African couple as good friends for several years, what I loved was the music they introduced me to , this was one of my favourite pieces: Akon – Mama Africa.

journey11

11. At the beginning of a journey the travel agent will give you a list of what is meant to happen each day. We all know from our lives that this simply doesn’t happen. If it did we would complete our to do lists impeccably. It is the lost areas of our life that magic happens.

journey12

12. The second mention of Unicorns. To me they are the truly magical creature. I have two friends Justine and Amandine that I swap unicorn images with because they represent a new magical beginning in our lives.

journey13

13. This is definitely internal, one of the great videos on this subjects comes from Jim Carrey: Love and Fear.

journey14

14. As I mentioned I ran marathons back in the day. When it was pouring rain in the middle of a Melbourne winter and 5 a.m. I had to remember I was running 42 kilometres in a month and yes, one step can make all the difference.

Journey15

15. And as a final reminder, remember to include joy, bliss and love on your journey. Because after all its a personal choice.

So some of us will have longer journeys than others, we will often feel sad that people pass when they do. That is the journey they were meant to have this time around, if you believe in that sort of stuff. I think I do.

Namaste  until Thursday my dear friends.

Is Reality the X Factor?

Looking for a subject today I notice The Green Guide: The best on Screen: Television, Streaming, Downloads & Radio was rating the reality TV judges. The Green Guide is the weekly entertainment section of our daily newspaper The Age, considered the more intelectual of the two papers that come out each day.

I cringed instantly that our society had sunk so low that this was considered news. What has become of mainstream society that this is what is considered entertainment for the masses. I checked out what people have quoted about reality over the years and have chosen a deft list to ponder. Here we go:

reality1

1. Each of us have our own reality, remember you are judging if you think your reality is more worthwhile than another persons.

reality2

2. Reality is that you will most likely end up with a partner at some stage in your life. I think that if you can achieve the above you are creating an awesome reality for the relationship.

reality3

3. Life is a game we all play at different levels, and we have our own unique devils. Meatloaf was one of mine: Bat out of Hell.

reality4

4. Growing up in rural country towns this above statements makes me relate to the time I went back to one of them as a Buddhist Calm Abiding meditation teacher. When I told people guess what they said?

reality5

5. From the first century A.D. Plutarch was a Greek historian, biographer, and essayist, known primarily for his Parallel Lives and Moralia. He is classified as a Middle Platonist. He had several other quotes which survived from that time, a famous one being: I don’t need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better.

Love, I spell it Nature.

I live in a city of 4 million people and had not been out of it for 6 months and recently went up the Bush to my friends art exhibition last week. I had forgotten what nature has to offer, the lack of mobile phone coverage meaning the only form of communication is aural, the beauty of the stands of trees, the rivers as they meander through the landscape and the noise of the birds, the beauty is life altering.

What have the bards and the ordinary folk said over the centuries about the healing power of Nature, we will travel down the path of enchantment with these 15 choice quotes:

nature1

1. This is one of my favorite poems about Nature, the Stars are always there.

 The luminosity of their sparkle
Blind with devotion, conceal with adoration.
The innocence of their angelic light,
Shine with the boundless uncertainty
Of where they are to glisten next.

The purity of their bleached glow
Fill with the endless possibilities of beauty beyond our belief.
The simplicity of their navigation
Guide us through anguish we often begin to feel.

The delicacy of their gentle awakening
Enliven our sky with slight promises and the fascination of confusion.
The aspiration the beam lets off
Shows us the path to our capacious imagination full of desires.

The gleam of their twinkle
Darken with perfection, align
With daydream, and are matched flawlessly
With the unreality of our everlasting fantasies.

nature2

2. Nature was here long before the human race, and if we are nor careful, will be long here after us, We need to take the words of Frank LLoyd Wright seriously, can’t read his name without thinking of this song: So Long Frank LLoyd Wright.

nature3

3. St. Bernard was a prolific author in the 11th century. He believed that travelling to the woods would offer you much more than sitting in a lecture hall.

nature4

4. The Nobel Prize in Literature 1913 was awarded to Rabindranath Tagore “because of his profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse, by which, with consummate skill, he has made his poetic thought, expressed in his own English words, a part of the literature of the West”. His beautiful words above re the non business of the butterfly relate to us the timelessness of nature.

nature5

5. One of the preeminent scientists of the 20th Century Einstein is best known in popular culture for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2 . Albert was just as attached to the power of Nature as to the beaker.

nature6

6. The forest, the woods are magnificent reminders of the awesomeness of Nature, they take away your frustrations that arise in daily life.

nature7

natture10

10. People keep posting unique examples of nature on my News feed, it seems there are so many examples of what nature has painted that is extraordinary.

nature11

11. The busyness of today’s world means that we do not often stops to smell the Roses, everything is still accomplished by nature without hurry.

nature13

13. Heart medicine , nature is definitely part of the mixture that gives us peace, calmness and stillness.

nature14

14. William Wordsworth is one of the World’s most famous romantic poets, his 1804 poem ” I wandered Lonely as a Cloud” Is his most remembered tones and my mums favorite poem

I WANDERED lonely as a cloud That floats on high o’er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they Outdid the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed–and gazed–but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.

nature16

15. I love this quote, it gives ownership to Nature being a living entity too.

Writing this has made me feel like taking more trips to the bush, as we call the forest or the woods in Australia, they are magical in their healing potential.

Namaste until Monday my dear friends.

Give me life
And I’ll revive you
