The biggest Adventure you can Take!!!

The biggest adventure I have taken in my life was to go to the then Soviet Union and Run the Moscow Peace Marathon the year before the Berlin Wall came down. Back then my passion was to make a difference on a world scale by ending world hunger. We ran under the badge of WorldRunners, a group based out of America. It was an amazing experience worthy of its own book but I actually wish to write about what makes something our passion for Life.

Marc and Angel Chernoff ask 10 questions around this subject:

1. What will you never give up on?

2. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?

3. What activities make you lose track of time?

4. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?

5. What fascinates you?

6. What is something you would hate to go without for a day?

7. What’s something you would do every day if you could?

8. Would you rather have less work to do or more work you actually enjoy doing?

9. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

10. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?

I suppose number six comes closest to answer my passion for blog writing as my I am an Interculturalist blog now number over three hundred. But what has the world said about our passions, let’s have a peek at some of these powerful quotes:

pass1

1. The richest man in the world is a living example of this – Bill Gates, Right, he created Microsoft. Long before that, however, he was an amateur programmer who was passionate enough about computers that in the eighth grade, he managed to get excused from math class to design things like early video games.

pass2

2. These people are the people who are the ones who take the first steps when there was no agreement and keep putting their feet in front of each other whatever happens to reach their goals. Think Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and their ilk: The Impossible Dream.

pass3

3. One word, Gandhi

pass4

4. Gary Vaynerchuk has 1.1. million Twitter followers yet posts on the subject Numbers don’t matter, Influence does because he knows that passion matters, not mere numbers: Priceless.

pass5

5. Boredom, a word much overused these days of instant gratification.

pass6

6. The timing between a gold medal performance can be as little as a microsecond, microseconds are also called passion: When you Believe.

pass7

7. Never used one!!

pass8

8. When was the last time you were abuzz with the energy that passion fills your body with: Come and Get It.

pass9

9. From sex worker to reciting one of her poems at Bill Clinton’s inauguration, Maya Angelou lived the above mission her whole life.

pass10

10. Make your soul grow, Yes Please: Make your Soul Grow.

pass11

11. This often occurs when you meet your beloved for the first time,  I think I have goosebumps.

pass12

12. Now, Now, Now: Don’t Stop Me Now.

pass13

13. One of Steve Jobs great calls to the extraordinary, as he says you will know when you find it.

pass14

14. I read about Jon Bon Jovi opening pay as you feel cafe’s so that people could get healthy food, the act of a passionate man: We Weren’t Born To Follow.

pass15

15. Leave your comments at the bottom as to what you think this means.

So as you will have read my new passion is the blogs of I am an Interculturalist, where I spread my love of possibility, what’s yours?

Music for today is from the evergreen Tom Jones, a country number from For King and Country, the uplifting The Lion King, a pop diva number from Selena Gomez, a short speech from Sir Ian McKellen, then two anthems from Queen and Bon Jovi.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Thankful & Grateful!!

I opened Marc and Angel Chernoff’s fine book 1,000+ Little Things Happy Successful People do Differently to the article: 12 Things to start caring about today. It begins “Life is about taking chances. it’s about doing something you initially thought you could never do. It’s about being a little bit crazy, following your heart, and not worrying about every detail of what everyone else thinks. And above all, it’s about learning to love who you are and what you have.”

It then follows with the 12 self-caring tools, here they are:

1. Start caring about your own happiness.

2. Start caring about your goals and dreams.

3. Start caring about how you invest your time every day.

4. Start caring about how you think and what you think about.

5. Start caring about how you treat yourself.

6. Start caring about how you treat others.

7. Start caring about how others treat you.

8. Start caring about your health.

9. Start caring about your education and your personal growth.

10. Start caring about doing the best you can.

11. Start caring about all the wonderful things you have right now.

I must admit I fluctuate between fulfilling these things on a day to day basis, I suspect that society does too. Let’s have a look at what they say about caring:

caring1

1. Rule 6, Take care how you treat others, there is such a thing as karma.

caring2

2. If you worry too much, you are not giving Peace a chance: Give Peace a Chance.

caring3

3. Rule ten for me, be the best you can.

caring4

4. How many lives have you turned around, include your self in the total: Stand up for Something.

caring5

5. Really an Eckhart Tolle moment, Live in the Now.

caring6

6. As I say to the woman I love, remember to breathe next time we meet, that’s what love does to me:  I will always Love You.

caring7

7. Joel Scott Osteen is an American televangelist based in Houston, Texas. Osteen’s televised sermons are seen by over 7 million viewers weekly and over 20 million monthly in over 100 countries. His sermons also broadcast 24 hours a day on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, Channel 128. Osteen has written seven New York Times Best Sellers. In 2004, his first book, Your Best Life Now, was released by Time Warner and debuted at the top of The New York Times Best Seller list. The book remained on The New York Times Best Seller list for more than 200 weeks.

caring8

8. Uncanny, it’s rule eight, take care of your health, both mental and physical: I’m Gonna Be.

caring9

9. Without the latter the former do not matter at all, they would be meaningless moments.

caring10

10. Imagine if every day was like a surprise birthday gift. Go on,  you can do it: If Today Was Your Last Day.

caring11

11. Comes under rule nine for me, especially if you were or are parents. Start caring about their education and personal growth.

caring12

12. A mild harsh, but resonates being close to the truth for me: Making Excuses.

caring13

13. When is the right time and place to care, right here, right now…

caring14

14. The Buddhists have the four noble truths, so does the world of caring:  If I sing you a Love Song.

caring15

15. Mandy Hale is affectionately known as The Single Woman TM around the world. In just over two years, Mandy has garnered a massive Twitter following of a half a million people from across the globe. With a heart to inspire single women to live their best lives and to never, ever settle, Mandy cuts to the heart of the matter with her inspirational, straight-talking, witty, and often wildly humorous take on life and love.

I have decided to finish this blog with Marc’s introspection for rule twelve: When I watched the Grammy Awards recently, I realised that many of the speeches musicians make when they accept an award go something like this: ” Thi means so much to me. My whole life has been leading up to this moment.” But the truth is, our whole lives have been leading up to every moment. Think about that for a second. Every single thing you’ve gone through in life, every high, every low, and everything in between, it has led you to this moment right now. This moment is priceless, and it’s the only moment guaranteed to you. This moment is your ‘life’. Don’t miss it.

If you are a regular reader you may have noticed I have a love affair with the work of Marc and Angel Chernoff, it has helped me through many a dark moment, I thank them for it.

Music today goes way back for a few – John Lennon and Yoko Ono start the journey, then we return to the present day with Andra Day, then flip back with Whitney Houston and The Proclaimers. Some rock from Nickelback, the little known Mr Heavenly, closing out with Bonnie Tyler.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Be Bold or Italic, Never Regular!!

I really like the quote in today’s Forward Steps – the fantastic book compiled by Thea Westra: The link to her site. that allows you to take an action, a challenge, read a motivational quote, take a clearing, answer a question and have an affirmation for the day.

The quote is as follows:

I love the phrase: ‘In a world that’s round, it doesn’t make sense to take sides’. So with skills I do not have to position myself against anyone, I become curious about them and I want to teach them about me. When I approach communication and conflict management from that place< I am not butting heads with anyone, I am learning or teaching: Dr Rhoberta Shaler.

To relate to the world in this way seems to me to be an act of boldness, not to but into the run of mill way we are expected to live our day to day existence. How do you relate to boldness, there are some famous quotes on the subject, let’s have a look at them:

bold1

1. My friend and Anam Cara Emeli always reminds me to use the koan: remember to ask, the worst thing they can say is no.

bold2

2. They say one is the loneliest number you will ever know, I say only if it’s about you and you do not provide service to others: One.

bold3

3. Here’s the most famous quote on boldness, the one most people can finish when someone starts it.

bold4

4. Have it in your muesli every morning: Bold.

bold5

5. Dumas won the Pulitzer Prize for history for his six-volume history of Franklin, Critics accuse him of sheathing his boldness when it comes to the well-known relationship Franklin had with his slave Sally Hemings.

bold6

6. If you are going to make mistakes make them bold ones, they allow you to recover in a more audacious way: Space Oddity.

bold7

7. George definitely did this in his own life. Shaw’s expressed views were often contentious; he promoted eugenics and alphabet reform and opposed vaccination and organised religion. He courted unpopularity by denouncing both sides in the First World War as equally culpable.

bold8

8. The latter statement could be called the day your Boldness is born:  You are Alive.

bold9

9. I just had to include this one.

bold10

10. Reminds me of the statement about baby birds, they jump off and learn to fly on the way down: I’ll Fly Away.

bold11

11. Neither does boldness!!

bold12

12. Not knowing what Chamba meant I looked it up. It’s a district in India according to Google, don’t know what it’s got to do with bad business. But I love how he states success can be achieved: Changes.

bold13

13. These are becoming more and more a part of my life as I enter the world of boldness through self-love and self-belief.

bold14

14. For each traveller they are a different love story, we get to be who we want to be in new and wonderful places that are just a name on the map until we get there: Gypsy.

bold15

15. And a friendly reminder what not being bold can cost you.

The clearing for today is Decide on actions, and with as much clarity and boldness as possible. Time to act on these decisions.

Music for today begins with one of Australia’s icons: John Farnham, then rapper Lil Lonnie, the masterful David Bowie, new to me Fragma, the superb Gillian Welch, from the land of movies Shrek and finishes with pop diva Shakira.

Marc and Angel Chernoff’s book 1,000+ little things Happy Successful People do differently is one of the best buys I ever made. Unfortunately it is not available at the moment because it has gone for re editing. They are releasing a new book Getting Back to Happy: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Reality, and Turn Your Trials into Triumphs: which ships 22nd May 2018. Their website http://www.marcandangel.com/ has all the details and many of their fantastic lists to help you live a great life.

I opened the book today and the page was entitled Self Love Questions to make you think. The first question is : If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow that person to be your friend? There are nine other questions just as confronting and insightful about how we relate to self-love.

So what vignettes do we release into the world regarding this often hard emotion, let’s take a journey:

sl1

1. At times we need to do this to our dear old brain. its our own worst enemy.

sl2

2. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, remember to behold yourself first and foremost: Beautiful.

sl3

3. Lalah Delia is the founder of VibrateHigherDaily.com and Vibrate Higher Daily Blog. Vibrate Higher Daily is a sacred online space for personal growth, elevation, and transformation. By creating the hashtag #VibrateHigherDaily as a personal journey mantra and reminder, a new path was born. Soon, many others also journeying towards living their highest potential took community and joined in.

sl4

4. Not taken or single – Self Loved: I’m Real.

sl5

5. Such beautiful words to remember: You can’t lose you.

sl6

6. I had a session with my mentor the other day, He asked me who was I trying to be, and that wasn’t who I really was. I have fallen in love with the fact I will never  be this more available Rod, I will be kind, supporting and loving Rod: I will Survive.

sl7

7. Or your kingdom, I think all of humanity could do with this list.

sl8

8. We all abhor violence toward others , why do we insist on regularly doing it to ourselves: Self Esteem.

sl9

9. How much has the person in your mirror been through, three cheers, they are still standing!!

sl10

10. Handed out at birth, keep working on it: Superpower.

sl11.png

11. Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never Ever.

sl12

12. Pierre was a French tragedian in the 16th century. He probably wrote this so we could avoid this other works: Alive.

sl13

13. André  Gide (French: was a French author and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1947 “for his comprehensive and artistically significant writings, in which human problems and conditions have been presented with a fearless love of truth and keen psychological insight”. That’s one hell of a way to say Self-Love.

sl14

14. We can see the magic in you so don’t forget that it’s there: All of Me.

sl15

And finally, remember self love can not come from another.

One more question from Marc and Angel: What’s something Nobody can ever steal from you – let’s go for Self Love.

Our music today is dominated by women. We start with Christina Aguilera, then Jennifer Lopez, travel back to the 70’s with Gloria Gaynor, then a sad number from The Offspring, to the mighty Beyonce, followed by Sia ending up with John Legend.

Why Now, Why didn’t we Know this!!

In her chapter Discernment is Everything – When the negative serves the positive Danielle LaPorte pens the following piece:

My new life is Golden

After I learned how to breathe under water

I knew that my lungs had all the answers.

My skills in courage were as follows:

swallowing terror whole

making good use of disgust

boring a hole in my kitchen floor with my tears

loving like what I loved was the only child ever to be

born of the sun and the moon

changing my mind while naked

breaking vows

making a new vow (only one)

leaning back and taking deeply deep breaths of space

watching the Universe reveal all of us to me.

My reward is as follows:

I get to go wherever I want now and always,

for instance

under water or

to that golden spot that I thought was only a dream

but is now my new life breathing me.

I can read the discernment in this and love her statement about being discerning:

Being discerning is not the same as being judgemental. Discernment is big-minded and awake. Judgement is narrow-minded and operates in the dark. Discernment is our wisdom coming to life.

How do we discern, how does the world discern? Let’s have a look by taking a journey around the globe:

discernment1

1. Now that would be a  breakthrough for all of us to relate to our lives in that way.

discernment2

2. Let’s raise our courage levels so we know when to do the latter and not spend our life suffering: Walk Away.

discernment3.jpg

3. It takes going to the edge to see discernment over judgement, are you willing?

discernment4

4. Is your Facebook feed chock full of events run by your friends and ones that Facebook thinks fit in with your lifestyle. Time to use your inner wisdom as to which ones you attend: Invited.

discernment5

5. Four interesting definitions of discernment, choosing and acting appeal to me.

discernment6

6. Often people drop the first word and never reach the stage of discernment: Sound Judgement.

discernment7

7. How often is your head held high in these situations?

discernment8

8. I just spent three hours in a workshop today listening to the cost of giving your power away to the deity known as the religious god and that we were above this, this quote reminds me of the power George said we give away: Embrace The Day.

discernment9.jpg

9. Don’t go into your life with your eyes closed.

discernment10

10. Don’t let it be such a secret in your life that it impedes your chance of success: No Secrets.

discernment11

11. Why I left the home pf the original sin many years ago.

discernment12

12. Andy Stanley is a pastor. First thing on his google entry is – What do you do when you’re no longer content with what you wear, drive, or live in? Followed by Character, Influence, Spiritual Growth. One could ask what these two statements have to do with the prophecy of love that Jesus Christ was spreading: Doing it Wrong.

discernment13

13. Love the combination of discernment and vision. Actions that will open us up.

discernment14

14. To me unrenewed is when you live your life from a poor me mentality and discernment is when you are willing to confront those parts of yourself that aren’t so nice but you hold them in your heart and see what comes from that: Suspicious Minds.

discernment15

15. In other words don’t push it down someone else’s throat.

Discernment isn’t easily swayed, because it has a strong sense of self. It means you will stop falling for anything and listen to your intuition more readily, building a stronger nature.

A mixture of the feminine and the masculine in today’s music – Malcolm Brown, Drake and Fine Young Cannibals from our kingdom and Christine Aguilera, Ziona, Naomi Striemer and Missy Higgins from our queens.

Only the pure of Heart can make a good Soup!!

Nothing changes without Me

Sometimes, my heart is so open

I can’t tell if it is a gaping wound

or a portal for everything that ever was and ever will be.

I’ve learned to love the beautiful terror of eternity,

and scenario planning for how shattered I could be

If the dark things got tall

and if I fell backwards in my forgetting of the light.

But you can’t fall backwards in Space,

You can only only ever unfurl.

More than anything,

I’ve wed the certainty that nothing changes without me –

not coal becoming diamonds

not fertilizing eggs

or migration patterns

or medicine dreams.

And what I thought was a net cast to me from a higher God

is actually strands of truth and filaments of desire

that I have tied together with my own two hands.

And in precious encounters, I tie what I know and want to you,

so we can ride the winds of wonder.

Yes, and

I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day – E. B. White

These are the first two entries in the chapter from Danielle LaPorte’s excellent book White Hot Truth on the Soul of Service: Link to the Book.

In this chapter Danielle discusses Conscious Optimism, the next quote is from Neil deGrasse Tyson:

I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday, and lessen the suffering of others. You’d be surprised how far that gets you.

Today we will discuss the second of these, how to lessen the suffering of others. To me, as demonstrated by all our great heroes and heroines it is through service this is attained.

How do we as humanity relate to this, lets have a look:

service1

1. Although Muhammad Ali points to the other one in this quote.

service2

2. How do we start to serve, from where we are: because From little things, big things grow: Classic Version of that song.

service3

3. Giving from your soul turns on the love light.

service4

4. Some beautiful words with deep insight from the master, Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī: Light a candle in your Heart.

service5

5. A man who died freeing his beloved India but believed that the answer lied in serving the culture of his country.

service6

6. Achieving this lets us see more and more opportunities to be of service: Wrecking Ball.

service7

7. Erica Jong is an American novelist and poet, known particularly for her 1973 novel Fear of Flying. The book became famously controversial for its attitudes towards female sexuality and figured prominently in the development of second-wave feminism. According to Washington Post, it has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

service9

8. They say if you achieve this you will never work another day. A hint, look how you can serve others: Soul’s on Fire.

service9

9. Wordy, but needs to be taken in.

service10

10. Swami’s are meant to be very wise. This one seems to be in the area of service: Try Everything.

service11

11. I know this is taking the piss out of Shakespeare’s more famous quote but I just had to include it.

12. Maya liberates my soul:  And still I Rise.

service13

13. You nearly need a magnifier to read this famous quote from Martin, but we all know the line anybody can serve.

service14

14. Three beautiful gifts to give to the world: Just give me a Reason.

service15

15. With the recent passing of Stephen Hawkings, the former president of India has a great point about the service to humanity that science provides.

And to finish some more words from Danielle that really sum service up:

Service is when spirit meets matter where it is. Service is being informed. Service is being enraged and compassionate. Service is being ruthlessly honest about the facts – then choosing to be hopeful about the future.

The music today starts with one of Australia’s preeminent Indigenous singers Archie Roach and Sarah Storer, then Paul Janz, Sarah Blackwood, Anthony Blackwood to the more well known Shakira, Maya Angelou and finishing with Pink.

Namaste until next time my dear friends.

The Heart wants what it Wants!!

Have you ever heard of Marc and Angel Chernoff?  They wrote a magnificent book 1,000+ Little Things Happy Successful People Do Differently a few years ago. It is great list upon great list that help you lead an outstanding life. If you would like a copy of it, act fast, Marc and Angel are taking it out of circulation soon to update it, here is the link: Marc and Angels book. Did I mention Angel is a Facebook friend of mine, its an honour for me all the way down here in Melbourne , Australia.

Each list has many pieces of home spun wisdom in it, today I chose to comment on 10 Things to tell Yourself Today and specifically number eight from that list: There is enough time today to do something I love. Here is what they wrote under that heading:

Where did you leave your happiness? With an old Lover? In a city you once lived in? In a story you never finished writing? In a dream you gave up on? In a hope you got to weary to carry? Wherever you left it go back and retrieve it. If you don’t remember where you left it, dedicate a little time today to doing something you love to do, and you will find your happiness somewhere nearby. Such beautiful and simple advice, that is why I love the book, its easy to understand and implement.

So what does the world say about doing something you Love, quite a lot actually, here are some of my favourites:

something1

1. A life full of purpose and that flows a lot easier, I’ll have one of those please.

something2

2. When I did the Landmark Forum they used to do a trying simulation that pointed out trying doesn’t get you very far, its actually doing that does:Try a little Tenderness

something3

3. A worthwhile question to ask yourself, when were you last truly amazed in your life?

something4

4. Over the time of writing my over 300 blogs, I have noticed that baseball players have contributed some great quotes to our society, Al is one of them: Love is the Drug.

something5

5. And the classic quote about doing work you love is…..

something6

6. Often called unconditional love: Unconditionally.

something7

7. No Wikipedia for Dylan Laurence so I leave it up to your imagination who he is, great quote though.

something8

8. From little things, big things grow, here is the song that most displays that: From little things, Big things grow.

something9.png

9. And then movies throw us great moments of doing what we love.

something10

10. Unknown in Australia, Jeff Foxworthy makes a living telling redneck jokes, obviously he found what he loved doing: Try.

something11.jpg

11. “So well that people can’t take their eyes off you”, no wonder Maya spoke at a presidential inauguration.

something12

12. Sometimes people forget where children learn their behaviour from, time to step up: When you say nothing at All!!

something13

13. Famous for the novel and film “The perks of being a Wallflower”, Stephen Chbosky points out the importance of self love and how it may limit our ability to let love in.

something14

14. As I take on my 12 month plan in my mentor-ship program Warriors of Love of returning to my 2011 weight of 80K, a mere 20k’s away, I think I’ll write this on my mirror: Good Times.

something15

15. And we leave it up to the Fab Four to make the last comment on doing something you love.

I will finish with the intro that Marc and Angel used for this list:

Count your blessings, not your troubles. Love one day at a time. Let the wrong things go. Give more than you take. Look for the good in people and situations. Make time for those who matter. laugh when you can. Cry when you need to, Focus on your priorities. Make decisions, not excuses. And always stay true to your values.

Yes, today is the perfect day to stand up and say….

The music comes from several genres today. The rock of The Commitments and Missy Higgins, John Butler and Dan Sultan doing one of Australia’s iconic songs, the pop diva’s Kate Perry and Pink, The soul of Grace Jones and Chic, and the mellow country of Allison Krauss.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

No Grit, No Pearl!!

Circumstances change and priorities change with them. Are you certain that the goals you are pursuing today are goals to which you are still committed? Alternatively, are they simply something you once thought you should pursue and you are only hanging onto them in order to ‘be right’? Remember what you wanted in your 20’s are no longer the things that matter to you in your 40’s or 50’s. So , take a little time for reflection.

One reflection to look at is Mark Twain’s quote: Do not go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first. The reflection that comes to mind from this is that it is up to me , nobody else is going to do it for me, they may assist me, bu if its my idea, its me that has to drive it.

There are a lot of quotes of the reflective nature, I hope you like the ones I have chosen:

reflect1

1. Now I know what DKNY means on all those hoodies, Donna Karan comes from New York and runs a fashion label, therefore DKNY.

reflect2

2. There are two choices, fix it or declare it complete and create new space for your new bold adventures: Something Better.

reflect3

3. I remember being told the tale about African tribes not being able to see TV images bu my science teacher, That reminds me of this quote.

reflect4

4. How did you get to know what you thought about your friends, did you ask or was it just a hunch?: Perception.

reflect5

5. Also remember to hang out in the Now allowing for reflections on the past, all are needed.

reflect6

6. Wise words from the man who best exemplifies this: Nelson Mandela.

reflect7

7. A great mantra to reflect on Self Love.

reflect8

8. A friend of mine met his life partner because he thought he had left his phone at work and went back to get it, It was in the bottom of his bag: Choice.

reflect9

9. Do unto others as you wish to have happen to you, sometimes I forget!!

reflect10

10. Sometimes the mind gets in the way, listen more deeply: Soul Kind of Feeling.

reflect11

11. I think the new wave of entrepreneurs are part of this outlook on life.

reflect12

12. I naturally think of Simon Sinek when I see a line like because we forget why we do it, here’s his inspirational TED talk on the subject: First Why and then trust.

reflect13

13. There are some great quotes in the holy texts, this is one of them.

reflect14

14. Proactive, not reactive is most powerful I find: The 7 Habits.

reflect15

15. Trudy Symeonakis Vesotsky, what a cool name. See and be , observe and then take action. I like it!!

Some very worthwhile reflections amongst that collection, if I don’t say so myself.

Music and Worlds this week. The very dance-able Specials and Dynamic Hepnotics plus wisdom from Alan Watts and Simon Sinek and a mix of pop and rap.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

They may forget what you Said!!

How many times do you have to repeat what you said to somebody? Human beings have a habit of waiting to reply, not listen when in conversation. This trait does not lead to powerful interactions that create the most useful actions in our day to day lives. So, is it the way we are educated so that we grow up thinking that we are meant to know the answers already versus a genuine curiosity in life.

When did education become about rort learning for each student being rated against each other in one or two exams instead of empowering them in what they are great at, let’s enquire into how society defines this:

eng1

1. How much of the math you learnt at school do you remember? A math major may say a lot, but the students focused on another calling would probably say ver little as they were not involved in it.

eng2

2. Way back in the olden days of the education system in my schooling, I remember having a piece of chalk thrown at me for asking a question that did not fir the cirriculum: Don’t ask me Questions.

eng3

3. And with the curing of this habit, we could do this in a  relatively short time.

It is, in short, a description of the attributes that make for a fulfilled human being, based largely on his experiences as a psychiatrist and a person. The book was broken up in four parts – Discipline, Love, Religion and Grace. The book took off only after Peck hit the lecture circuit and personally sought reviews in key publications. I am not afraid of Storms!!

Storms could be another way of relating to our weaknesses, why do we spend so much time thinking about what we cannot do aka our percieved weaknesses versus what are our strengths. The effect that weaknesses have on us are one of the takeaways in Timothy Ferriss’s great book Tools of Titans: His website.  Ferriss has been listed as one of Fast Company‘s “Most Innovative Business People,” one of Forbes‘s “Names You Need to Know,” and one of Fortune‘s “40 under 40.” He is an early-stage technology investor/advisor (Uber, Facebook, Shopify, Duolingo, Alibaba, and 50+ others) and the author of four #1 New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestsellers, including The 4-Hour Workweek and his latest, Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers. The Observer and other media have called Tim “the Oprah of audio” due to the influence of The Tim Ferriss Show podcast, which has exceeded 100 million downloads and has been selected for “Best of iTunes” three years running.

What influence can dealing with our weaknesses have on our day to day life, lets see what society says:

1.Seneca the Younger (c. 4 BC – AD 65), fully Lucius Annaeus Seneca and also known simply as Seneca , was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, dramatist, and—in one work—humorist of the Silver Age of Latin literature.

Seneca was born in Cordoba in Hispania, and raised in Rome, where he was trained in rhetoric and philosophy. He was a tutor and later advisor to emperor Nero. He was forced to take his own life for alleged complicity in the Pisonian conspiracy to assassinate Nero, in which he was likely to have been innocent.

2. That feeling when you wake up and go but I didn’t do that, I have no idea how I will survive…, you know what I mean, Its in these moments you must get back to self love and relate to what you have done that are your moments of greatness: The Greatest.

3. Susan Gale is an author who has this one quote on Goodreads, All I Ever Needed Was The One is the heartfelt love life story of a late bloom baby boom cougar in search of genuine cupid chemistry and not a beta male mate. It’s about a rare old fashioned lady who finally settles down for the chemical pheromone reaction of true love and not a politically correct laundry list of economically desirable shortcomings. A tale spanning innocent bliss, adult discovery and sentimental mid life, this romantic comedy is the ultimate storybook of waiting for Mr. Right or finding at long last love.

weak4

4. This makes me think of the quote I left out, “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new. Albert Einstein”: Starman.

5. With the  light comes the dark, learn about both  or the one you forget will snak up on you and slam you to the ground.

10. Emerson wrote on a number of subjects, never espousing fixed philosophical tenets, but developing certain ideas such as individuality, freedom, the ability for mankind to realize almost anything, and the relationship between the soul and the surrounding world. Emerson’s “nature” was more philosophical than naturalistic: “Philosophically considered, the universe is composed of Nature and the Soul”. Emerson is one of several figures who “took a more pantheist or pandeist approach by rejecting views of God as separate from the world: Feels

12. Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.” As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?”Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”: Don’t Give Up.
