I really like my brother-in-law’s Tesla, so I want one. But I need to drink water every day. A want is a desire to possess or do (something) or wish for. Needs are distinguished from wants. In the case of a need, a deficiency causes a clear adverse outcome: a dysfunction or death. In other words, a need is required for a safe, stable and healthy life (e.g. air, water, food, land, shelter), while a want is a desire, wish or aspiration.
I had this difference raised in my last relationship. I wanted a relationship, but I did not need the bizarre sexual desires of the woman involved.
I like Marc and Angel’s list of quotes that may have changed the way I thought about the situation:
- If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.
- You cannot change what you refuse to confront.
- In life, if you don’t risk anything, you risk anything.
- It’s better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder.
- No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.
- You can learn great things from your mistakes when you aren’t busy denying them.
- When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right things a chance to catch you.
- You don’t drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
- It’s better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder.
- Life is 10% what happened to you and 90% how you react.
- You will never become who you want to be if you continue to blame everyone else for your current state.
Time for some pictures

A great Stones song.

Which one do you follow?

How would it be to be unstoppable? Bring on, Superman.

Mum, I want to go there.

Think about our next generation.

Do the two get in the way of each other?

Pretty Logical.

Find the Others.

Don’t hang around those who only have needs.

Going to the gym is working out.

Heading down the highway, looking for adventure.

Is it us or them?

I started this earlier; all the songs are Drake; here is the playlist: https://youtu.be/lKyYeghtfXc?si=dwTvMM7Zg4AKpvNv.
It has been a long time since I have been well enough to write a blog. I am still living out of love and respect for all, everyone included, and it’s up to us because we can do it; it’s our time.
Thank you for reading them while I have been gone. This is blog 602. Thank you for being there for me.
