No matter the Situation!!

I was always considered intelligent at school but was expelled at the end of Year 11 for non attendance. I may have been intelligent but did not consider a formal education the way to honour it. I spent many a day in Year 11 not attending the institution, Eaglehawk High School I had left my parents home to go to.

Many years later I began the education that would fulfil my desires, in the self development field. Through the tenets of Buddhism and Werner Erhardt and Associates I began a journey that I still continue today that will continue to the day I pass to the other side.So what does society have to say about where the fulfilment of intelligence lies, let’s have a look:

int1

1. My favourite bird, the noble owl suits this quote that Henry Ford made famous in the early years of the last century questioning were people allowed to think in an education system that was set up to train clones for jobs that already existed.

int2

2. Being supremely intelligent did not necessarily mean that you fitted in . Here are some unusual facts about Albert: Quirky Albert.

 int5

3. Often people who come up with the great changes on our planet are considered quite crazy because how could their idea work or there is no need for that when they first start talking about it.

int4

4. Janis Joplin, one of the 60’s great philosophers, was not known for her answers , she was known for her questioning of society: Ball and Chain.

My father used to say, "Don't raise your voice, improve your argument."

5. Albert again, he did not shout in life, just kept improving his arguments until they gave him the Nobel Prize for one of them.

int6

6. Or Love, kindness, inner beauty etc. etc. etc: Money.

int9

7. I read recently you should be the dumbest person in the room if you want to be a success, this relates to that.

integrity10

8. Epictetus was a Greek-speaking Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave at Hierapolis, Phrygia, and lived in Rome until his banishment, when he went to Nicopolis in north-western Greece for the rest of his life. His teachings were written down and published by his pupil Arrian in his Discourses and Enchiridion: Just Do It.

int11

9. They say when you are born 60% of the jobs you will do have not been invented yet, but in our country they are trying to return the education system to a standardised system throughout the country, why would you do that?

int12

10. There is also a fourth these days, artificial which could be seen as replacing one or two of the above: Prince Ea.

int15

11. How can you keep on learning if you are always the smartest person in the room, if this occurs more times than less, then you are going backwards.

int14

12. Your physical looks do not remain the same, we get lines and wrinkles as the years pile on. Your wit and foresight grow over time: I don’t want to change You!

int16

13. I had to include this one, because I am known as the research nerd, research intellectual bad ass has a much better ring to it.

int17

14. Intelligent people will really get this: Pharrell is Happy.

int18

15. I love this quote by Albert, It’s why I rail against the education system that thinks everyone is the same.

Intelligence is a gift we could all participate in when we enter our lives from the womb, we just need to find the right education path. Don’r rely on the one that the system says is the one that will work for you.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Real Heroes don’t wear Capes!

I won a competition when I was very young dressed as a super hero. As you get older you realise that the heroes in life don’t necessarily wear capes. That heroics are much simpler than that, a smile when you feel down, a hug when you feel lonely. a dollar in a cup.

Appreciation of what they do is what people remember, it has been an ongoing battle for me as it was not a strong point in my family as I was growing up. I have to remember to say thank you as it was not something I learnt from an early age.

Acts of appreciation, what does society say about them, lets have a look:

She is credited with composing the tune for the Indian National Anthem Jana Gana Mana in February 1919, during Rabindranath Tagore’s visit to the Madanapalle College.

2. I am not like the millions who think that the Tony Robbins documentary I am not your Guru is a classic. Too me it looks a lot like manipulation but a lot of people I respect swear by him and have done the fire walk : The Tony Robbins Experience.

app3

3. I still remember the Japanese airline staff member who walked us to the front of the line in Kyoto airport because we were due to miss our flight as we had assumed a flight to Moscow would be international. It was domestic and we could not read the signs in 1990.

app4

4. Expectations versus acts of Appreciation. How dull has your relationship become when your day to day actions are expected? : Someone Like You!!

app5

5. This is not so easy to do, a dear friend of my brothers is in hospital at the moment with the possibility she will not see 50, you never expect this.

app6

6. Bruce Wilkinson is a Christian philosopher and author who has given keynote addresses at major national and international events with stadium audiences of 80,000 or more. He has written more than 60 books that have been translated into 30 languages, including several books that reached the number one spot on the bestseller lists of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Bruce’s book, The Prayer of Jabez, remains the fastest-selling book in history,  with worldwide sales exceeding 20 million. Scarlet Begonias.

app14

app15

15. What can you not say about the great man who is Wayne Dyer. Who did he appreciate? Wayne Dyer stated Nisargadatta Maharaj to be his Teacher and cited the quotation, “Love says: ‘I am everything’. Wisdom says: ‘I am nothing’ from a compilation of talks on Shiva Advaita (Nondualism) philosophy I Am That. I appreciate all of you who read my blogs, I am in awe you are from all over the world. I was especially bemused by the person from St. Kitts who read one.

Constructing Fear!!

Recently in our country there has been a politician elected who bases her policies on fear and hate, her name is Pauline Hanson and she calls her party One Nation, one nation if you happen to be of white Anglo Saxon descent. She received over 500,000 votes so she is not alone.

Following up on this a mainstream journalist called for the banning of Muslim immigration because she was afraid for her children to walk the street due to terrorism, two people have been killed by terrorists in our country, and yes they were Muslim.

A Muslim journalist replied to her call, here is the video Destruction or Construction. At the end he called for the following, “You might just be angrily tweeting at someone who said something outrageous. What I’m suggesting is while it feels good to choose destruction, right now I think we need to try construction.”

Construction or Constructive thought in place of fear and loathing would create a very different world to what is being created via mainstream media worldwide. I recently watched a mainstream news broadcast and the first six reports were about death, so I turned it off as I would prefer ignorance to this being pumped into my thought patterns.

There are many opinions on constructive thought throughout the annals of time, lets go on a journey:

construct1

1. We need to spread this through classrooms, Love and Courage before the eschewed values of the media barons get hold of our children’s minds.

construct2

2. As does hate never decrease, you cannot solve hatred with more hatred or fear, it requires love and Happiness. Pharrell William’s Happy.

construct3

3. American Speaker, Poet, Lyricist and Author Sydney Madwed was told by his second grade teacher that his voice and the songs he was making up did not fit in so he could not sing with his class. It took him to the age of 57 to rediscover his talent for poetry.

construct4

4. It is often how constructive criticism is that allows us to grow from it, imagine if we had an entire Constructive Summer.

construct5

5. Michael Leunig, one of Australia’s living legends and greatest cartoonists uses a duck as his image of calmness. Here is the link to his gallery, be inspired Michael’s magic.

construct6

6. Henry Ford, inventor of the first mass assembly line changed the conversation towards cars, here’s a classic tune about one of his iconic models : Mustang Sally.

construct9

7. What can be done in the name of pleasing people, taking away their fears.

Construct7

8. In what Waleed did in his video he was questioning that fear and hate only becomes more fear and hate. He was willing to question this paradigm. Question It.

construct10

9. We are seeing the danger worldwide of the former of this modalities being the mainstream methodology. Perhaps this should be displayed in every government institution that exists on the planet.

construct11

10. If we learn to listen in these situations we would be On Top of the World

construct12

11. Audrey Hepburn , 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993 was a British actress. Recognised as a film and fashion icon, Hepburn was active during Hollywood’s Golden Age. She was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third-greatest female screen legend in the Golden Age of Hollywood and was inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. Audrey did not believe her greatest talents were her looks, but her positive, constructive attitude.

construct13

12. In their song Aussie Rockers Rose Tattoo speaks to this quote We can’t be Beaten.

construct14

13. From the great philosopher Author Unknown comes a piece of magic about where fear and loathing come from.

construct15

14. Fundamentally Fear is a choice, Jim Carrey says there is only two moods, Fear and Love. Bruce lee, film star and karate master goes for the latter : Positive Vibration.

construct16

15. That little inner voice with those harsh words that have constructed our worlds, I called them your sacred stories that you do not want people to know about you, ever. What if we could tell them with out any attachments, how different life would be.

I wish to believe the stories that what is happening on out planet is the old ways fighting for their survival against the coming of the new age of Atlantis. Our future may depend on it.

Namaste until next time, my dear friends.

Space is the Place!!

My friends Emeli and Jodi run a social enterprise called Collective Potential, their mission is to: Create spaces for people to connect in real life and provide experiences and resources to create fulfilling lives: Collective Potential website.

It got me to thinking about what does this term creating space mean? Perhaps its talking about astronaut space, physiological space, acreage space, there are many to choose from. I have chosen from a wide range of modalities for the 15 quotes today, lets begin:

space1

1. One of the two most famous philosophers in the world Unknown and Anonymous, Unknown says that we need to let go to allow better things to happen to us.

space2

2. Never devalue your worth for another, never.

space3

3. Well known blogger Melanie Koulouris is famous for her Life has taught me poem. This is a beautiful quote about the need for space on your spiritual path.

space4

4. If you are leading a totally full life, there are time you may need to delete some of it to allow for growth. Randy Gage, author of Mad Genius, a manifesto points out that this means people as well.

space6

5. Busyness means that life can become a bit hum drum with all of that doing, remember to have space for a creative outlet amongst it all, mine are dance, Tai Chi and singing.

space7

6. Something borrowed, something new, something blue: that space that is happening is occurring for the new shiny you to emerge from the ashes. Time for the title song : Sun Ra’s opus.

space8

7. Our job is to turn our minds down and listen to the body, our home. In the silence we can welcome the rest of the world.

space9

8. Saying Hello to the new and goodbye to the old. There was a famous song written about this in the sixties by the lads from Liverpool : Hello Goodbye, check out those outfits.

space10

9. Little boxes all in a row, modern architecture of convenience has seen the beauty of previous time periods be  eroded into fitting in as many people as we can on one block.

space11\

10. Come home my darling, you know where I am. How many of us enter our sacred space on a daily routine. The bliss king Joseph Campbell says this is where to go to when you feel lost.

space12

11.  I promise to laugh with you, cry with you, and grow with you. I will love you when we are together and when we are apart. I promise to support your dreams and to respect our DIFFERENCES, and to love you and be by your side through all the days and nights of our lives.

space13

12. Turn around, you are going the wrong way. Yes you, are you listening?

space14

13. You can be anybody in this space, most definitely not the authentic you.

space15

14. Enter your space ship of light. Back in 1972 David had something to say about this : Space Oddity.

space 16

15. Democritus was an influential Ancient Greek pre-Socratic philosopher primarily remembered today for his formulation of an atomic theory of the universe. He was born in Abdera, Thrace, around 460 BC, although, some thought it was 490 BC. Atoms and empty space, puts it in perspective doesn’t it.

In other words, all of those points that I made about how to hold space for others can and should be applied to yourself first. Give yourself permission to trust your own intuition. Give yourself only as much information as you can handle. Don’t let anyone take your power away. Keep your ego out of it. Make yourself feel safe enough to fail. Give guidance and help to yourself with humility and thoughtfulness. Create your own container for complex emotions, fears, trauma, etc. And allow yourself to make decisions that are different from what other people would make.

Namaste until next time my dear friends.
