Pluck those Strings!!

Where I volunteer we did a project last year producing a book called My Journey, My Lucky Country about the stories of 11 mature age migrants and their journeys before and after they decided to settle in Australia. One of them commented that she found it hard with out any English when she first arrived but if you are determined that anything is possible. I had found my word for today’s blog, determination.

So lets take the journey down the path of determination:

1. Carl von Clausewitz -was a Prussian general and military theorist who stressed the “moral” (meaning, in modern terms, psychological) and political aspects of war.

He saw history as a vital check on erudite abstractions that did not accord with experience. In contrast to the early work of Antoine-Henri Jomini, he argued that war could not be quantified or reduced to mapwork, geometry, and graphs. Clausewitz had many aphorisms, of which the most famous is “War is the continuation of politics by other means.”

det2

2. These are several of the attitudes that you need to live a determined life: Win.

det6

6. There is only one song that could go with this quote from one of my animal totems: The Leader of the Pack – The Shangri-La’s.

det7

7. From the worlds most famous philosopher Anon. comes advice when we can alter our future, Now!!

det8

8. Self will is needed in this short quote about what it takes ti make stuff happen: Free.

det9

9. Josie Spinardi is an American weight loss guru, who specialises in have people break their overeating habit helping people to create the life they can’t wait to wake up to.

det10

10. I’ve got a couple of friends who always seem to sparkle whenever I see them, they say they work hard on being happy : Sparklers.

det11

11. How many lucky people do you know, who seem predestined to success, then there is the rest of us who get there through grit and determination.

det12

12. The worlds  oldest rock and roll band, Who else could it be: Satisfaction.

det13

Who helps make your Life Story special?

I recently went to an introduction to an event called Sex and the Soul, it contained Tantric practices so I was hesitant as always when that word is bandied around. As the people running it are my two main teachers in life My heart trusted them but my circumstantial driven mind still had the thoughts that some of it would be unsafe.

It was a beautifully joyous sacred occasion, honoring Men and Women on an equal level and opening up the possibility of huge expansion of your sexuality and all areas of your life really. I didn’t get better at the practice of the bump and grind of sex, that isn’t what its about. But riding home on the tram a few days later it hit me the main thing I had got was that I was so much more accessible to myself and other people to share my life story with and that it could be juicy.

So what does life have to say about our Life stories and how has society related to it over time. Here they are, my favorite 15 sayings on the matter and a few of my thoughts on them.

story 1

1. This is what I and I’m sure quite a few other people travelling on the Love realm dream of, How sexy would this be in your life.

story2

2. What kind of people are we? Often flawed at time, we all do our best to be the best person we can be for another. Find the one’s who will give their all for you, even if it doesn’t fit your list.

story3

3. Songs tell us the stories of our lives year to year. What were the melancholy songs that you used to stand and shout out next to your friends in those, imy case smoke filled rooms that now move you to tears as you remember the good and bad times of your ill spent youth.

story4

4. I have to agree with this one, how did I get to be 60 with my own Seniors card. You can still, and I do dance like you are a third of that age, its your choice to listen to the conversation that there are things you can no longer do.

story5

5. Our stories contain everything, the highs and the lows, the love and the pain. When it becomes just reminiscing the events and feelings that took place and you don’t become crippled by the memories, the pain has miraculously gone.

story6

6. There’s the past, the present and the future. Those times we believe that we think we can control the third of these is when we are most disappointed. The joy in life is those unexpected meetings that transform what we can accept in our lives.

story7

7. All those things we are told and boxed into become our Life. We often forget they are just a story and that stories can be scrunched up and re written in a new magnificent version.

story8

8. Do you make a difference with your life story, do you give to others of your wisdom, time and spirit. The bettering of humanity is not in focusing on yourself all the time. Yes we need to get better, but it is in the grand purpose of taking others with us that will transform our wounded planet.

story9

9. How often do we say or think, It’s their fault, not mine. Turn around , go back and begin again. You are letting others write your story, that beautiful eulogy to your magnificent life.

story10

10. Are you an introvert or an extrovert , a whisperer or a yelling full out type. All stories are there to be told. Nothing wrong in how you tell it, just live it full out.

story11

11. Do our stories get heavier as we grow older. This humorous take on our stories by Garfield is my favorite excuse why I have an expanded tummy.

story12

12. Imagination is what makes our stories great to listen to. Today in our schools they are focusing on Knowledge, memorizing by rort. This saddens me that they are building clones not unique individuals who will live their amazing stories.

story13

13. I don’t think I will ever be able to explain why one drunken night I said to the people I had just met, see you in 4 weeks. Yes I did the Melbourne Stair Climb and came fourth last, I smoked 40 cigarettes a day when I did this. Funny thing is they gave you a beer at the end.

Why I write a daily Love Meme.

Being enrolled in two courses at the same time sometimes leads to confusion  as to which one I am referencing. The two courses are Creative Mastery two, a six-week coaching held by Arion Light and Sacred Union for Singles, a seven month online course facilitated by the Moon Woman Tanishka Tantrika.

The subjects I wish to discuss in this blog are Love and Abundance and how the two combine. Definitions first –

Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection (“I love my mother”) to pleasure (“I loved that meal”). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment.[1] It can also be a virtue representing human kindness, compassion, and affection—”the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another”.[2] It may also describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one’s self or animals.[3]

Ancient Greeks identified four forms of love: kinship or familiarity (in Greek, storge), friendship (philia), sexual and/or romantic desire (eros), and self-emptying or divine love (agape).[4][5] Modern authors have distinguished further varieties of romantic love.[6] Non-Western traditions have also distinguished variants or symbioses of these states.[7] This diversity of uses and meanings combined with the complexity of the feelings involved makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, compared to other emotional states.

Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.[8]

Love may be understood as a function to keep human beings together against menaces and to facilitate the continuation of the species.[9

abundance (əˈbʌndəns)

n

1. a copious supply; great amount

2. fullness or benevolence: from the abundance of my heart.

3. degree of plentifulness

4. (Chemistry) chem the extent to which an element or ion occurs in the earth’s crust or some other specified environment: often expressed in parts per million or as a percentage

5. (General Physics) physics the ratio of the number of atoms of a specific isotope in a mixture of isotopes of an element to the total number of atoms present: often expressed as a percentage: the abundance of neon-22 in natural neon is 8.82 per cent.

6. (Card Games) Also called: abondance a call in solo whist undertaking to make nine tricks

7. affluence

[C14: via Old French from Latin abundantia, from abundāre to abound]

So as we can see there are many different meaning for both words, but what do we as the human race have to say about an abundance of Love. Here are some examples

1.

abundance

It seems to me that the people who have been most turned on and passionately loving their lives are those people who have discovered what they love and have made that their career.

2.

abundance2

All through school I was taught reading, writing and arithmetic. Not much of this proved very useful in discovering in what it was that made my heart shudder. It was a 30 year journey after being cloned by the school system that finally got me to discover the joy of  writing as my self-expression.

3.

abundance3

Do we allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough to open our hearts to the whole world nd allow everybody and everything to be our teacher, I find this difficult at times when I let my head and judgements rule me.

4.

abundance4

Self Love is something that is not pushed in popular media, the news is full of war and hate. What if we focused on the dignity of the human  spirit and the power of Love, different world.

5.

abundance5

We all at some time in our lives have had one of these, our bestie, people we do not need to say many words and there seems to be no separation from. The relationship is much more than physical.

6.

abundance6

Spring is such a beautiful time, the scent of flowers permeate the air. Yet these fine examples of the earth loving itself are available all year round in poems, photos, our memories of times that they have bloomed.

7.

abundance7

Great Love equals a great abundant Life, go live it.

8.

abundance9

This beautiful image reminds me of the love where no words are needed, that which we seek for all of our lives.

9.

abundance8

A woman who created an abundant life by creating the belief of self-love and then went about fulfilling it, a shining example of self-love and abundance.

10.

abundance10

Love allows us to live in harmony with each other and the planet. People like Janet Goodall and David Suzuki who love our planet do so from a place of deep love for all creatures great and small.

11.

abundance11

We create the distinction of home, our calling, our journey with our words, they are not physical things, but things of Love, this is one of the great gifts we have.

12.

abundance12

Emenate Love and you will become a beacon for those who need the present of a little bit or a lot of love in their lives, become an Anchor of Love.

13.

abundance13

I don’t know if this is true but I believe one of my sisters said to me in the middle of one of my Mental Health crisises that It didn’t matter what I did, she would love me forever, my journey to being well transformed that day.

14.

abundance14

That’s what so great about these two distinctions, lived purely they have no costs to them, only benefits. We need to stop putting a caveat on them.

15.

abundance15

Finally, its time we started loving our abundant planet and not seeking a return from it with each economic transaction we make with it. Abundant Love is the way to freedom.

So these are my chosen 15 quotes that express the abundance of love to me, not sure if it explains why I write a daily love meme on Facebook, till next time my friends Namaste. If you wish to read them her is the link to my Facebook page, as a warrior of Love I will Like you and Include you in my world wide tribe Rod Williams

Its like swimming back to the sinking ship because its Too Cold

sship

There are hundreds of images of freighters sinking on Google Images but its not the same as a fully rigged ship, the grand masters of the sea during our formative exploratory years entering the murky depths. This is like the statement above that was made at our last session of Raw, there are no limits. I googled it and it seems its an original so kudos to the member who came up with it.http://changemakersfestival.org/event/raw-there-are-no-limits/.

It was prominent during the night and has stuck in my mind ever since, how many times am I guilty  of this seemingly foolish practice. If I did not do this ever I would have lived a life full of wonder with no hiccups. But there are many masters modern and ancient who point to the fact that this sort of life leaves you short of a life well lived. If we are always sailing on a flat ocean with no storms how do we know if we have risked our all.

Helen Keller reminds us that “Life is a daring adventure or it is nothing ” Do we remember those days in our lives where we just got up went to work for 10 hours, came home and fell asleep or do we remember those days we spent realising a new possibility that could transform our relationship to life.

keller

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in everydirection, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than youever dreamed yourself to be.”
~ Patanjali – the author of Yoga Sutra

It helps to have a purpose in your live, as Patanjali, the author of Yoga Sutra intimates, the forces that will become available to you are immeasurable and what you will be able to achieve is unimaginable to your mind, it is more located in your heart. My purpose is the ethos of Interculturalism Love and Respect for All, Everyone Included https://www.facebook.com/groups/Interulturalism/ It took me 59 years of journeying through addictions, mental illnesses, Buddhism, meditation and banal Government jobs to get there but it was well worth the journey, I intend to transform the world with your help.

Zig Ziglar is considered one of the greatest American Success coaches and his quote ” People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well neither does bathing – That’s why we recommend it daily ” hits home as to what it takes. Get up, do stuff that has your purpose move forward, don’t expect it to magically happen, being in action is what it takes, the law of Attraction does not leave action out of the picture.

zig

I couldn’t wish to be an astronaut as a child because they didn’t exist, I wanted to be a Ships captain because we used to go down to our Aunty Ruby’s farm outside Leopold and you could see the ships in Corio Bay, I’m not a Ship’s captain, the closest I became to a man of the trades was an apprentice French Polisher, the rest of the time I spent behind a desk. As I said I have found a purpose and I’m sure the child back in Pakenham when it wasn’t on the Metro line would be proud of me.

“I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.”
~ Roy Croft

Roy Croft is a little known poet who wrote a poem called Love which begins with the above line http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Croft, I believe that this line applies to both friendships, self friendship and other friendship, heck you could probably replace friendship with love if you wished to. You will keep going back to the sinking ship if you do not have both of these in your life, the water will get awfully cold very quickly with out them.

“I know for sure that what we dwell on is who we become.”
~ Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is loved by millions of women worldwide for her earthy summation of day to day events and is a living example of the above statement. Willing to share it all she is also a disciple of Zig Ziglars statement  “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” So if you do not wish to have to swim back to the Sinking ship take some of the advice that these modern and ancient thought leaders have to offer

Namaste until next time my friends
