What helps you grow each day?

You can’t control everything. Sometimes you just need to relax and have faith that things will work out Let go and let life happen. Because sometimes the truths you can’t change end up changing you and help you grow. Here are a few of those situations:

  1. Everything is going to be all right – maybe not today, but eventually.
  2. Yes, you have failed in the past.
  3. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never have enough.
  4. Some people will lie to you.
  5. The only thing you can absolutely control is how you react to things out of your control.
  6. You may need to be single for a while.
  7. One of the greatest freedoms is truly not caring what everyone else thinks of you.
  8. You have to take care of yourself first.
  9. One of the hardest decisions you will ever face in life is choosing to walk away.
  10. it’s usually the deepest pain that empowers you to grow to your full potential.
  11. Often it’s not until you are lost that you can begin to find your true self.
  12. Everything is as it should be.

Over the centuries societies have had different measurements of growth, kets have a look at some of them:

1. Great quote from one of the most successful authors of all time.

2. One step at a time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzT-ccVov4w

3. Thich Nhat Hanh is a very wise man and monk.

4. When you are feeling the pain is when you are working the hardest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc8t6BZUSJs&list=RDQM639Om4uqOVo&index=10

5. It’s the journey not the destination.

6. The line to the end of success is not one of a level surface: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlH3HdZO6Fc&list=PLIT1U6WS4aYBLwNPx8HxL7Hb8Gr5Z5lSn

7. Considered the paragon of Chinese sages, Confucius’s wisdom has survived from 400 years before the birth of Jesus.

8. We must look after our mind and heart in our growth patterns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJVW42s3vrk&list=PLD8UBiFGzyFYJ40BIAWw6bh2uS691z7Jo

9. This quote from Wayne J. Dyer is really in your face.

10. My first POTUS quote for quite a long time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqolSvoWNck

11. How long is your grass at the moment, is it growing?

12. Are you where you are meant to be, time to face the pain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=if7ahLQZtXc

13. Provision of good quality service is the ultimate social media buzzword.

14. I would add gratitude to the first stanza as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwgr_IMeEgA&list=PLhXQhpqBNAYsiwGQ6e4rxgbQ0gGVfKZ2u&index=15

15. Failing gives you the opportunity to move on to a place you have not been.

So growth can be invigorating or a path of pain or both, its our choice.

Is it appropriate to …

Appropriateness, who decides what is and what is not in our lives. Is it the giver or receiver? I heard of a case of a young woman who suffered from anxiety who had turned eighteen who parents were finding it difficult to hand over responsibility to her as she was now a legal adult. Do you support the parents who had raised her up to this point in her life or hand over the reins to the young woman and allow her to land on her feet or learn what she needs to in life by failing a few times, remember their are no mistakes, only lessons in life.

To become strong at some period in your life you must learn to fly on your own, to leap out of the nest and flap your wings and trust that you will be able to fly. Some people do it at a younger age than others, they say some people never do it, so what has society said about the appropriateness of leaping out of the nest to fly on your own, lets take a leap:

1. Imagine if our education system was based on this premise.

2. If it does now work the first day, repeat the dose of courage on the second and the third: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy7Iu6NlD-w

3. Mr Nietzsche never wrote simple statements, lots in this one.

4. How many times was it for you ?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VQ_3sBZEm0

5. Take the chance, jump out of the nest.

6. Judgements, Old ideas, Self-Doubts,make your list: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-w9OclUnns

7. If the slowest moving creature can, I think you are up to it!!!

8. I didn’t expect to be using a Shakira quote: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6rP-YP4c5I

9. Some people fall and break further than others, there is a way back.

10. A lot of us get this the wrong way around: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eyMLeFvVBg

11. Soaring, one of my flight dreams, If I could fly unaided it would be OK to go.

12. Natsu “Salamander” Dragneel is a fictional character and protagonist of the Fairy Tail manga series created by Hiro Mashima: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMmmbJlWhtk

13. Known as the caterpillar theory.

14. What are you dreams that have made you soar in the sky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAg3uMlNyHA

15. Cord cutting time, methinks.

So here is a quick reminder of some of life’s flight manual rules:

  1. You are the only person responsible for your success.
  2. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
  3. There is no progress without action.
  4. Persistence always wins.
  5. Focus is Everything.
  6. Failure is necessary.
  7. Positivity fuels productivity.
  8. You must believe you can.
  9. Helping others is a big part of being successful.

Today’s playlist contains two animations. We begin with Pink followed by two bands from different eras, The Foo Fighters and The Band. Then pop diva Shakira. My unknown band is Illenium. The penultimate track is the Afters and we complete with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJlQ3F9bKYrvVZjgUPLOmIFbtR001aSMm

What do you talk about with your Friends?

It’s been a while, must have been time for a break.

Covid, Lockdown – what did you do over the lock-down period, are you still in lock-down? In Melbourne, Australia, my home town we are lucky enough to have come out of lock-down a couple of months ago. My lock-down looked like 2 months in a psychiatric unit after a couple of months of mental health breakdown, then a beautiful affair, then several months of having one person be able to visit me. It was quite a long period of time.

in the two months or so since we have been allowed to amble out to eat with each other, dance with each other, People seem to be more honest in as to how they are truly feeling. Two conversations I had over the last weekend are great examples of this. I make chai at a dance called Mojo – The Dance of Connection and was sitting in the kitchen area when a German friend of mine sat down next to me so I did the polite thing and asked her how she was going, the conversation finished half an hour later as she told me of her sadness at having been retrenched from her university due to the lack of the funding from the International student market and that she would be going home when the air routes reopened.

The second conversation was with the women I consider has the most beautiful heart in our conscious community. She asked me how I had been, and I decided not to answer fine and told her my Lockdown story, which gave her space to tell me how she had been on a extremely deep journey of suffering bouts of anxiety herself. I felt honoured that she had told me and it just had not been a I’m Fine.

So what have the bards said about communication over the centuries, lets have a look:

1. It may be a lot of words, or it may be total silence.

2. Eckhart says Love is all you need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b0_hzeqeoc

3. Pretty basic formulae between life and death.

4. If it remains inside, it can still cause those scars to cause harm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0cBhdvXfJA

5. This is the way you find out who fits in yours.

6. I assume you…not the answer you are looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBU1_4CZJLM

7. Paulo Friere is a Brazilian educator whose book Pedagogy of the Oppressed is the third most cited book in the Social Sciences.

8. How many of these do you have in your life?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNHBT7wjqVI

9. Or maybe the Yellow Brick Road.

10. Have you ever looked across a room and suddenly felt your primal urges surge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPOIS5taqA8

11. Something I battle with , the urge to reply not listen to what is being said.

12. Great question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3By4DZyTNM

13. Remarkable how many times this does not happen in communication, both being understood.

14. I’m learning about the three hearts – The Mind , The heart, and the gut: I imagine that’s what this is talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8HOfcYWZoo

15. Pilot and Author, Anne Lindbergh went from fascism to the green movement over her lifetime.

There is also the need to communicate to yourself fully, here are some ways to do that:

  1. Wash your hands and face.
  2. Change your socks.
  3. Call a close friend.
  4. Stretch.
  5. Go outdoors.
  6. Take a light exercise break.
  7. Dress to feel your best.
  8. Listen to your favourite music.
  9. Take a few, deep controlled breaths
  10. Clear your stuffed nose.
  11. Cook a good meal.
  12. Walk away from energy vampires.
  13. Complete an important piece of unfinished business.
  14. Work on something that is meaningful for you.
  15. Assist someone in need.
  16. Think about your latest (or greatest) success.
  17. Act like today is already an awesome day.
  18. Notice what’s right.
  19. Take a moment to acknowledge how far you have come.

If you are truly communicating with yourself it makes it easier to do it with others, make yourself the promise that you will be honest in as many situations as you can, remember practice makes perfect.

Today’s playlist covers many aspects of communication, ending up in Love. We begin with The Beatles then move to the New Age of Shaina Noll. My new discovery is next: Grace Vanderwaal. What would communication be without Dionne and her Friends. Back a few years to Kim Carnes. The penultimate track is from Disturbed and we end with Celine Dion: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJlQ3F9bKYrvDOtC5ps0iS5cd3Z890nVy

My ethos of communication is Love and Respect for All, Everybody Included, I have created two Facebook Groups to spread it around the world. The first is Thriving People – People who wish to make a difference to Humanity: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1126100227764949 and Interculturalism: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Interulturalism.
