Oh PASTA, how I love thee

I get a yearning for certain types of food. Be it Ferguson Plare pasties or KONO gelati, but at the moment, it is for pasta.

History of pasta

The history of pasta is a subject of debate among food historians, with various theories and claims surrounding its origins. Here’s a summary of the main points:

  1. Mediterranean trading: Food historians estimate that pasta probably took hold in Italy as a result of extensive Mediterranean trading in the Middle Ages. Since the 13th century, references to pasta dishes—macaroni, ravioli, gnocchi, and vermicelli—have increased frequency across the Italian peninsula.
  2. Marco Polo’s journey: A common misconception is that the explorer Marco Polo brought pasta to Italy from China in the 13th century. This idea was based on an extract in Marco Polo’s journals in which he describes a ‘pasta tree’—now t thought to be a Sago tree. However, noodles existed in China and Asia long before pasta appeared in the Mediterranean world.
  3. Etruscan origins: Some historians argue that pasta has its roots in ancient Etruscan culture. A set of reliefs on an Etruscan tomb dating from the fourth century BC depicts a knife, a board with a raised edge that resembles a modern pasta board, a flour sack, and a pin that they say was made of iron and used for shaping tubular pasta.
  4. Arab introduction: Some historians think that Arabs introduced pasta to Europe during the conquest of Sicily. In the West, it may have first been worked into long, thin forms in Sicily around the 12th century, as the Tabula Rogeriana of Muhammad al-Idrisi attested, reporting some traditions about the Sicilian kingdom.
  5. Northern Italy’s embrace: In fact, it is only in the last century or so that many regions of northern Italy – including Veneto, Lombardy, Liguria and the Piemonte – have embraced pasta as an essential part of their cuisine.

In conclusion, the history of pasta is complex and multifaceted, with various theories and claims surrounding its origins. However, it is clear that pasta has a long and storied history in Italy and beyond and has become an integral part of many cultures’ cuisines.

Melbourne, Australia, where I live, is an. Italian tradition based in Lygon Street, Carlton

To find the perfect pasta, here are 20 things Marc and Angel suggest

  1. Expecting life to be easy.
  2. Overlooking your true path and purpose.
  3. Chasing after those who don’t want to be caught.
  4. Do not ask for help when you know you need it.
  5. Let one dark cloud cover the entire sky.
  6. Holding onto things you need to let go of.
  7. Spending time with people who make you unhappy.
  8. Not making time for those who matter most.
  9. Denying personal responsibility,
  10. Letting everyone else make decisions for you.
  11. Giving up who YOU are.
  12. Quitting as soon as things get slightly difficult.
  13. Doing too much and pushing too hard without pausing.
  14. Constantly mulling over past hardships.
  15. Discrediting yourself for everything you aren’t.
  16. Running from current problems and fears.
  17. Denying your mistakes.
  18. Expecting your significant other to be perfect.
  19. Focusing on the negative.

What gifts did my parents pass on to me?

As I stated in my previous blog, I turn 70 in July

I have been pondering what my dear parents, Ian and Edna, passed onto me that I passed onto others.

Let’s discuss what gifts my mum, Edna, passed on to me. Edna was a photographer in the Seige of Ballarat.

What is the siege of Ballarat, you may ask? During

OK, I haven’t solved the line ending in mid-sentence. The Seige of Ballarat was the imaginary line if the Japanese were more successful with their intended invasion in World War 2. So, our family was embedded in photography except for one sibling, yours truly. I was given the gift of the world’s Greatest Volunteer

Both Edna and Ian believed in giving back to their communities, Edna was a Brown Owl in several of the towns we lived in, and Lan. was involved with Rotary

I was a volunteer at Landmark Education, A Buddhist group where I ran diety practices, and CERES enviromental

Park, where I ended

up as Secretary for 7 years and received

a year’s free membership in 2002

What have you done that nobody would believe?

I am going to list things I have achieved and not achieved over that time. But first, my friends

  2. Bad things will. happen to you and your friends.
  3. Everyone can make a huge difference.
  4. First impressions aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.
  5. Big results come when you narrow your focus.
  6. Love yourself. Become your own priority.
  7. In order to get, you have to give.
  8. Not much is worth fighting about.
  9. Don’t try to impress everyone.
  10. Keep having fun.
  11. Keep it simple.
  12. Little things stick to you.
  13. Less advice is often the best advice
  14. Sometimes, you just have to go for it

I have to get the words. I am an Interculturalist in here. Till next time

What I spent 6 months doing was avoiding life

My secret: Since the age of 50, I’m 69 now, and happy returns to the grand old age of 70 in July. I had severe mental health episodes culminating in my latest 3-month stay in Bundoora.

I had 14 sessions of ECT, the consequence of which were loss of memory: What is that password again? and an amazingly strong sense that I was a piece of sh*t. My cure is to disappear from the planet, Don’t try this, I guarantee it will not work.

Another consequence was that I was hacked as Conscious Community Victoria’s admin and the solo admin. I still receive offers from young women to watch their porn videos, anybody knows how to stop it.

So this is what my friends Marc and Angel have to say about it

  1. If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself How LONG would you allow that person to be your friend.
  2. 2 Why are you, YOU?
  3. 3. In one sentence, what do you wish for your FUTURE self.
  4. 4. What’s something you have that everyone wants?
  5. 5. What’s something NOBODY could ever STEAL from you?
  6. 6. What has the little VOICE inside your head been saying lately?
  7. 7. What’s something NEW you recently learnt about yourself?
  8. 8. What makes you FEEL INCOMPLETE?
  9. 9. What would you do DIFFERENTLY if you knew nobody would JUDGE you
  10. What PROMISE to yourself do you still need to FULFILL?

It hurts a bit, doesn’t it?

my readers in 164 countries across the planet, I thank you for continuing to read the 600 oldies.

This is the first time i have looked at my blog in 6 months, Writing is my passion

I discovered that I have not written a blog since September last year

I was in a mental health unit for three of them, and I thought I might be there

for a week. How wrong can one be?

It was like entering a vortex of having everything that mattered to me cease to exist matter int in my life. Or

more likely I decided somewhere that

I didn’t matter in other people’s lives, as a couple of people had told me

recently and it got to me more than I thought. The way I reacted to it, I would not recommend to an

anyone because it is like entering a psychotic field and you tell yourself all the things that are not working in your life versus celebrating the simple things that we do on a day to day basis.

One of the things I stopped celebrating was writing blogs. I know this is not the same. as my previous blogs, but I will get there. I have not worked out how to put up quotes and videos but I’m about to have a go:

Here is a quote that is relevant where I am on my journey at the moment, I am battling the need for certainty versus what the mind throws at me. Lets try a video

So this is my first attempt at a blog which WordPress kept only allowing one line in a paragraph I Am not balanced in my life patterns to share my all the things that popped up in this six month journey, but I am celebrating writing something. Thanks to the people who kept reading I am an Interculturalist. I aim to write two a week, I can’t promise what the subject matter will be, but this is much larger than I thought it would be

I want to be Happy versus lets lead an authentic life

A friendship that meant a lot to me ended when I recently received a voicemail stating that I did not make her feel happy when we were together. I have recently given up this low vibration way of life for one where people are authentic about where they are in their lives. I acknowledged that I was sad and advised the person that doing it via voice mail was as weak as opium. Eight hours later, she sent me another voicemail. I declined the offer

I want to be happy lives at the consciousness level of Life By Me. Where we struggle day to day to be something we are not, the personal development mantra of be happy and life will be wonderful, denies all the other emotions . I am realizing in conversations with more and more people that I no longer can live in this false universe versus one where people live a life of authenticity.

What do Marc and Angel have to say about this via one of their wonderful lists:

12 Lies to stop Telling Yourself:

  1. I don’t have enough yet to be. happy.
  2. My dreams are impossible.
  3. I am stuck with people who hurt me.
  4. My failed relationships were a waste of time.
  5. Things will. never get better.
  6. Failure is. bad.
  7. Great things will come to me effortlessly.
  8. My past is 100% indicative of my future.
  9. I never need to meet anyone new.
  10. I can’t live without those who are gone.
  11. I’m not ready because I’m not good enough yet.
  12. I have way too much to lose

We now move onto what society has said about being authentic over the years:

This is a life worth living.

Take the steps and have these things in your life.

.

You are the star in your own movie, no one leses.

Those of us who decide to do this are way way cool.

Cry Freedom.

To show up and be real, Yes Please.

Love is always the answer, Ragnar.

You are the George Lucas of your life, Make a great movie, you deserve it.

And who I am is authentic.

The cost of giving up your real life.

The desire to always be happy is a Personal. Development disease.

This is not an easy path to travel, be brave

Why I totally respect my new. mentor, Peter Sage.

How often in your life have you done these things and provided leadership?

So, my life is transforming as I hang around. I nearly died last week , when my brakes failed. My reaction was a thought, I nearly died, not a week long mental tirade about how it was unfair.

My purpose in life is to save the planet for my three year-old grand niece Tawera. I was at a documentary where the producers answered a Q and A. I asked a water biologist if Tawera had a chance of reaching 69, my current age. She also has two teenage children. Her answer, if we keep putting off what we need to do, probably not. but she had hope that the new generations were waking up and would do what it takes.

I have no idea how to do this. I live my life from my koan: Love and Respect for All, Everybody Included: Why; It’s up to us, Because we can, It’s our time. Do not think governments are going to do it, they survive to be in power.

Death by a Thousand Cuts

Can listening to your mentor speak for an hour change your life at 69 years of age.. You bet your sweet bippy it can.

The subject: The four levels of consciousness which I wrote about quite recently, but as. I enter their power further and further, my life looks and feels so different that I just had to share the journey with someone, so you, whoever reads this are the chosen. few..

The four levels are:

  1. Life does it to me. AKA Victimhood
  2. Life By Me: Hard Yakka and struggle, a life of boring certainty.
  3. Life Through Me; nUncertainty, massive mistakes, remarkable results, worth waking up in the morning for.
  4. Life As Me: Think MLK, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, something to aim for. you may be killed by the lower levels because you scare them so much.

Enoug said, give level three a try, it will interrupt your life so much in unexpected way. My fuse box blew up, We the flat occupants had to pay for the new fusebox after our electricity supplier turned the power off. We did it, they turned up 8. hours later at 11.15 pm to restore it, now thats uncertainty, big time. Lucky for Smart phone data and a moxy M1 Powerbook.Yew.

Time for a Marc and Angel list.:

Heres their 17 Deadliest decisions you can make:

  1. Not Loving what is.
  2. Waiting and Waiting and Waiting.
  3. Changing who you are because others have changed.
  4. Letting heartache define you.
  5. Running away from problems.
  6. Being ungrateful.
  7. Allowiing long-term anger to occupy your heart.
  8. Believing that beauty looks a certain way.
  9. Letting your expectations run rampant.
  10. Disrespecting others.
  11. Disrespecting yourself
  12. Putting up with unfaithful friends and lovers.
  13. Rushing love.
  14. Neglecting your most important relationships.
  15. Trying to controlevery last detail about everything.
  16. Never taking risks.
  17. Giving up on you.

Peter, if you read this, I believe that you and Marc and Angel are meant to do good work together, their two books are manuals for life.

Privileged Whiteness versus Interculturalism

My friiend posted an article about the Stanford professor who was savagely attacked in the media because she dared suggest the American Conscious movement reeked of Privilrgrd Whiteness quoting as an example Burning Man Festival. This thought stuck in my mine when I attended two events over the weekend. The first one was a dance of about 150 people: n1 Mexican, 1 Asian, ! IndiN, The rest came from the background of privileged whiteness. The second event was a kirtan practice, a bit better, 3 Islander women and two Asian women out of a crowd of eighty singing ancient Indian chants, go figure.

Now over to the world of Interculturalism where I hang out half the time. I was at a Yarning circle of 60 people. I was the only descendant of earl Victorian sellers who had taken part in the Frontier Wars, not on the good side. I often attend events where I am the token white guy. They appreciate me coming because it is not often White Australian attend their events even through they invite all cultures.

How do you think that two such diverse cultures came to be and how could we get them to co-mingle so that there is an exchange of cultures so that both grow?.

Lets look if Marc and Angel Chernoff have a list that may cover the issue:

1.Appreciate the great people and things in your life.

2. Ignore other people’s negativity.

3.Forgive those who have hurt you.

4.Be who you really are.5.

5. Choose to listen to your inne view.

6.Embrace change and enjoy your life as it unfolds.

7. Choose your relationships wisely.

8. Recognise those who love you.

9. Love yourself too.

10. Do things your future self will thank you for.

12. Leave enough time for fun.

13. Enjoy the little things in life.

14. Accept the fact the past is not today.

15. Let go when you must.

Here are thw quotes and music:

You are not pulled up by the police every time you walk down the street.

If you are willing to seek them out.

Does slavery still exist in America under another name.

Black and Asiian lifes matter too.

Love is always the answer – Ragnar.

Because being black is cool, white men can’t dance.

Interculturalism offers that exact thing.

The KKK are a prime example of this.

We need more people to say this around the world and take on Interculturalism.

What do you mean I am privileged, I have worked hard.

So I have taken on melding these two areas of my life, I have no idea how. But I believe my personal koan; Love and Respect for All, Everybody Included: nWhy; It’s up to us, Because we can, It’s our time woll make the difference in it happening.

White Greed rules OK.

Will you do what it takes to grow your relationship?

We are all human beings. That means we have a relationship with every individual on the planet, some closer than others, but we are all part of the same oneness. We wake up, do our morning rituals, walk out the door and we enter the world of relationships. Don’t trust people, why are they staring at me, are my clothes sitting properly, all those thought that make true relationship impossible.

What can we do to shift this paradigm, the eternal chattering. mind of our lives. We slow our lives down and listen for what are our priorities versus doing busy stuff to fill in time, to. make more money to make. me feel that we have made it. There is nothing wrong with making money but without the right mindset there is no way it will bring you happiness.

One area. to spend some extended time on is discovering your purpose, your why. Without a mentor of mine said you are just doing stuff, billionaire or pauper. Lets have a look at a list that Marc and Angel Chernoff have created in this area:. Here’s 20 Things to start doing. in your day to day relationships:

  1. Free yourself from negaitive people
  2. Let go of those who are already gone.
  3. Give people you don’t know a fair chance
  4. Show everyone kindness and respect.
  5. Accept people just the way they are.
  6. Acknowledge others and cheer for them.
  7. Be your iimperfectly perfect self..
  8. Forgive people and move forward.
  9. Do little things every day for others.
  10. Pay attention to who your real friends are.
  11. Always be loyal.
  12. Stay in better touch with people who matter to you.
  13. Keep your promises and tell the truth.
  14. Give what you want to receive.
  15. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
  16. Allow others to make their own decisions.
  17. Talk a little less and listen more.
  18. Leave petty arguments alone.
  19. Ignore unconstructive hurtful commentary.
  20. Pay attention to your relationship with yourself.

Can I ever Trust Again?

When did you first lose the trust that small children. have for their mothers? For some it may be wgen their parents divorced, a truly prevelant experience these days, or your Nonna and Poppa died, or a friend took their own life unexpectedly. i thought I had done enough “work” om this until my last relationship when bizarre sexual practices were part of the deal and it broke my trust of women.

We each have our version of it. I now think when there is an opportunity with a woman, what if I have to break my values again just for the realationship to continue. This makes me incredibly sad, a phycoligist friend of mine said I needed to do a course of therapy after I told her what Happened and what I had done because it was so outside normal values, especially mine of Love and Respect for All.

I have connected with someone I wouldlike to say to, You can trust nme totally But can I promise that, time will tell.

Marc and Angel have a list of things of 11 ways to become the personwe love:

  1. Stop judging and appreciatebeauty within you.
  2. Treat yourself the way you wanr others to treat you.
  3. Care less about who you are to others.
  4. Know your worth.
  5. Son’t rush intinate relationships
  6. Let go of those who are’nt really there.
  7. Fotgive yourself and Othwrs.
  8. Focus on the positive.
  9. Believe in the person you are capable of being.
  10. Work on goals you believe in.
  11. Keep looking and moving straight forward.

Time for some quotes and tunes on Trusting each other.

What does it take to trust the netire universe, a noble task?

Thats why we are in each others life at the moment.

The universe was created to bless us and support us to have a wonderful life.

But the. universe requests that you put in some effoty to.

Love and Respect for All, Everybody Included : Why; It’s up to us, Because we can, It’s our time.

May you find your beautiful lan earlier than later.,

The universe knows that you need to be patient at certain times.
